Eagles | Alshon Jeffery questionable

Fri, 17 Nov 2017 07:42:00 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (ankle) will be questionable for Week 11, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Pederson said Jeffery's ankle injury has been lingering, but he's optimistic the receiver will play.

Fantasy Tip: Three touchdowns the last two weeks have galvanized an otherwise mediocre year for Jeffery. The Dallas Cowboys have been susceptible to opposing receivers the last five weeks, and Jeffery is a low-end WR2 in fantasy.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery says he'll 'definitely' play

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 17:24:31 -0800

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (ankle) said that he'll "definitely play" in the team's Week 11 game Sunday, Nov. 19, against the Dallas Cowboys. He also mentioned that the ankle issue he has is something he's been dealing with.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery wasn't previously on the injury report, but it appears it's nothing new, so his owners need not worry. After all, the former Chicago Bear has actually been producing his best work of the season as of late, having amassed three touchdowns and 146 receiving yards over his last two games. He has a solid matchup on tap in Dallas this week, too, which could set him up to churn out WR1 production.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery shows up on injury report

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 12:13:19 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear what caused Jeffery's ankle ailment, but it doesn't appear to be too serious. He should be started as a long as he's active, but expectations should be tempered if he isn't fully healthy.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery scores two times

Sun, 05 Nov 2017 18:04:21 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery hauled in six receptions for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 9 win against the Denver Broncos with 11 targets.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery and Carson Wentz have been developing quite the rapport lately. After just two touchdowns through the first six games the duo has connected for three scores over the past two games. Jeffery is back to WR2 status in most fantasy formats, although you'll need to make other plans in Week 10 with the team on a bye.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery posts 62 yards, TD

Sun, 29 Oct 2017 16:28:58 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery had a pair of receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers on eight targets.

Fantasy Tip: The touchdown was just the third for Jeffery through eight games, and his first since Week 4. Still, he has at least two receptions in all eight outings and he is averaging 17.8 yards per reception in each of his past three games.

Fri, 27 Oct 2017 13:55:36 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (groin) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has been held to under 40 yards in three of the last four games but has still been targeted at least six times in all but one game this season. He will have a favorable matchup this week and can be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

Eagles | Full practice for Alshon Jeffery

Thu, 26 Oct 2017 13:12:11 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (groin) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has been struggling a bit over the last month with 37 or fewer yards in three of the last four games but will remain one of the team's top target. He can be at least a No. 3 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery practices in full

Wed, 25 Oct 2017 16:16:32 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (groin) was listed as a full participant for practice Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery posted a season-low two receptions in the Monday nighter against the Redskins, and he hasn't had a 100-yard game in seven outings this season. In addition, Jeffery has failed to find the end zone in three consecutive outings. For fantasy purposes, he is more of a WR3 or flex play in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 8.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery has quiet Monday evening

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 21:12:14 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery finished with just two catches on six targets for 37 yards in the team's Week 7 game Monday, Oct. 23, versus the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Tip: As usual, Jeffery saw a fine amount of targets, but also as usual, he just wasn't able to do anything with them. The good news with the former Chicago Bear is that he's still a regular in what has been a very potent offense, garnering six or more targets in all but one game, but he has just two touchdowns to show for it, while averaging less than 50 receiving yards per contest. Still, it's not time to give up on him, as the Eagles continue to score in bunches every week. He'll break through at some point.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery leads team in receiving

Thu, 12 Oct 2017 22:32:06 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery led the team in targets (10) and receiving yards (71) while tying for the team lead in catches (four) during Philly's Week 6 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: After gaining 56, 29 and 31 yards, respectively, over the last three weeks, Jeffery's 71-yard showing on TNF was a step in the right direction. Despite not delivering big-time production, Jeffery holds enough upside to be a weekly WR3 for the time being.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery held in check

Sun, 08 Oct 2017 14:58:15 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery caught three passes for 31 yards against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has been held to under 32 yards in each of the last two games but does have two touchdowns on the season. He will continue to be one of the starting receivers for the Eagles and can be at least a No. 3 receiver most weeks.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery finds the end zone

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 19:55:27 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery caught three passes on six targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in a 26-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday, Oct. 1.

Fantasy Tip: The targets have been there for Jeffery, but the production has not. Tough matchups haven't helped the cause, and it's easy to forget this is his first season playing with Carson Wentz. Better days could be ahead for Jeffery, and in the meantime, he should be viewed as a high-upside WR3.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery posts four receptions

Sun, 24 Sep 2017 16:27:45 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery posted four catches for 56 yards on eight targets in Week 3 against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has racked up 28 total targets through three games, although he has just 14 catches for 186 yards and one visit to the end zone. He is producing like a WR3 or flex fantasy option right now heading into Week 4 against the Chargers.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery posts good outing

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 14:16:10 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery caught seven passes for 92 yards and scored a touchdown in a 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: This is a big step forward for Jeffery, especially against a solid Chiefs defense. Still, one good outing does not make a season. Jeffery has had issues staying healthy, and he truly needs to post back-to-back good games to impress fantasy owners. Next week's home game against the New York Giants, an easier opponent, should go a ways toward determining Jeffery's status.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery likely to draw Josh Norman

Wed, 06 Sep 2017 09:05:31 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery is expected to be shadowed by Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman in Week 1, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

Fantasy Tip: It's the first of many brutal pre-bye matchups for Jeffery, who is likely to face primary coverage in the coming weeks from the likes of Jamoris Jenkins, Casey Heyward and Patrick Peterson, to name a few. Jeffrey has the talent to win this battles on occasion, but his injury history and potential matchups make him a prime bust candidate as his current ADP.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery catches TD

Thu, 24 Aug 2017 20:00:24 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery caught two passes for 35 yards and one touchdown against the Miami Dolphins Thursday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery will be at least a starter for the Eagles this season and could be the leading receiver as the season goes on. He should be able to improve on his 2016 stats and can be considered a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery playing catch-up

Sun, 20 Aug 2017 08:23:28 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery did not practice for about a week and a half during training camp in the preseason or participate in team drills, leading wide receivers coach Mike Groh to conclude Jeffery was "behind" his teammates when it comes to his knowledge of the playbook.

Fantasy Tip: The subject comes up because Jeffrey ran a wrong route on the third-and-12 play in the Eagles' last preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. Philadelphia's priced free-agent acquisition is no stranger to the training room and owners need to keep that in mind when deciding whether or not they should draft him this summer. He's a dicey WR2 with WR1 upside and a brutal schedule to begin the season.

Dolphins | DeVante Parker compared to Alshon Jeffery

Fri, 18 Aug 2017 13:45:32 -0700

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker is comparable to Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery but with more speed, according to QB Jay Cutler.

Fantasy Tip: Parker improved his stats from 2015 to 2016 and finished with 744 yards and four touchdowns. He will be a top-three receiver for the Dolphins this season and should receive a solid amount of targets. He can be considered a No. 3 fantasy receiver in most leagues.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery still limited

Sat, 12 Aug 2017 13:29:46 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) was limited to individual drills during practice Saturday, Aug. 12. The Eagles may consider not playing Jeffery in the second preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery recently returned to practice but is still not ready to participate in all drills. He should be ready for the start of the start of the season, but owners will need to monitor the situation. Jeffery is expected to be the main target in the passing game for the Eagles and should be seen as a No. 2 fantasy receiver.

Tue, 08 Aug 2017 20:17:57 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) was limited to individual drills during practice Tuesday, Aug. 8, and is not expected to play in the preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Thursday, Aug. 10.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles likely are taking it slow with Jeffery at this time and probably will have him play later in the preseason. Jeffery should be the team's top receiver this season and will see plenty of targets. He can be considered a No. 2 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

Mon, 07 Aug 2017 06:19:24 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is dressed for practice Monday, Aug. 7, after he was limited the previous day.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has all the makings of a WR1, but his propensity for injuries reduces him to a good WR2 candidate.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery back at practice

Sun, 06 Aug 2017 11:25:59 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) returned to practice Sunday, Aug. 6, after missing the previous four practices due to a shoulder strain.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffrey's durability - he has a history of shoulder problems as well as soft-tissue injuries - is about the only thing keeping him from being a consistent fantasy WR1. Thus, he's a tough prospect to draft in the third round in fantasy drafts and should be treated more as a high-upside WR2.

Fri, 04 Aug 2017 08:24:42 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is over his shoulder injury, but he remains out of practice Friday, Aug. 4, as a precaution. The team hasn't decided if he'll play in the preseason opener.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has all the makings of a WR1, except his propensity for injuries. Chalk him up as a good WR2 candidate.

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 3. Jeffery's injury does not appear to be serious, and offensive coordinator Frank Reich said he believes Jeffery is being held out as a precaution.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should continue to monitor the situation to see when Jeffery will be able to return to the field. He probably will be the No. 1 receiver for the Eagles this season and can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver in most leagues.

Tue, 01 Aug 2017 05:34:50 -0700

Eagles | Injury scare for Alshon Jeffery

Sat, 29 Jul 2017 19:56:21 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) was examined by trainers after landing on his shoulder during practice Saturday, July 29, but he returned and said afterward that he was fine.

Fantasy Tip: If Jeffery can stay healthy, he could be a WR1 in his first year with the Eagles. Take a chance on his upside when the high-end WR2 options are off the board.

Eagles | Carson Wentz working with receivers

Mon, 10 Jul 2017 11:12:53 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz is working with several Eagles this week, including WRs Alshon Jeffery and Jordan Matthews and TE Zach Ertz.

Fantasy Tip: It's always nice to see a young quarterback working out with his pass-catchers during the offseason, especially when it's not required. Wentz has solid upside in his sophomore year and has the receiving corps to break out. Draft him as a QB1 is ill advised, but he makes for a quality QB2.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery has impressed so far

Mon, 26 Jun 2017 11:13:41 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery may be having the best offseason in a few years, according to wide receivers coach Mike Groh. Groh coached Jeffery for three seasons with the Chicago Bears and he believes his receiver is having his best offseason since 2013. Jeffery is at a good place physically and mentally as he continues to develop chemistry with his new QB Carson Wentz.

Fantasy Tip: It's easy to be excited about a player in a new uniform, especially when Jeffery has the connection and familiarity he has in Groh. Jeffery is somewhat of a risk, though, as he has missed 11 games the past two seasons. When healthy he has WR1 upside, but he's better suited as a WR2. Wentz also has Jordan Matthews, Torrey Smith, Zach Ertz and other playmakers to throw to.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery finding a rhythm

Sun, 11 Jun 2017 18:23:33 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery said he and QB Carson Wentz and the rest of the offense are starting to click.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery's injury history makes him a high-risk, high-reward fantasy option, but you have to start thinking about taking the gamble when it comes time to draft your WR2.

Eagles | Carson Wentz talks up Alshon Jeffery

Thu, 25 May 2017 20:21:53 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz said he loves what WR Alshon Jeffery brings to the table and is looking forward to developing chemistry with the receiver. "He plays on time, he knows what he's doing, his catch radius is impressive," Wentz said "That's the first thing that jumps out at me. I'm just looking forward to continuing to build that relationship."

Fantasy Tip: Injuries are a constant concern with Jeffery, but he could shine as the likely go-to target in Philadelphia. His upside makes him worth the gamble as a WR2.

Sun, 14 May 2017 18:11:04 -0700

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery has embraced the coaching staff and has been competing at a high level since joining the team, according to head coach Doug Pederson, and Pederson said the hope for the offseason is to have Jeffery and QB Carson Wentz on the same page.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery's upside is undeniable, but injuries have derailed him throughout his career. He should immediately become the go-to target for Wentz, and he is worth the gamble as a low-end WR2.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has teased fantasy owners with his upside, but nagging injuries have plagued him throughout his career. If you can grab him as a WR2, he is worth the risk.

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 13:08:12 -0800

Free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery (Bears) is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year, $14 million deal Thursday, March 9.

Fantasy Tip: This will end up being one of the biggest moves of the day. Carson Wentz now has a respectable receiving corps to throw to with Alshon Jeffery and Jordan Matthews heading that group. As stated earlier, Jeffery remains in the low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 conversation.

Eagles | Alshon Jeffery favoring Eagles

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 11:33:29 -0800

Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery is leaning towards signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery, one of the most coveted players on the free-agent market, makes sense for the Eagles. Philadelphia really needs receiving help in addition to Jordan Matthews, and Torrey Smith doesn't exactly scratch that itch. If Jeffery does join the Eagles, he'll remain a low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 with impressive sophomore quarterback Carson Wentz.

Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery's agent had a positive meeting with the Bears Saturday, March 4, according to sources. Both sides are open to an agreement between Jeffery and the Bears.

Fantasy Tip: The Bears have a few more days before Jeffrey can talk with other teams, so the Bears could try to reach an agreement soon. Jeffery should receive a lucrative contract this offseason and will start with whoever he signs with in free agency. He can be a fine No. 2 fantasy receiver in leagues next season.

Thu, 02 Mar 2017 19:20:34 -0800

Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery wants to play for a team that needs a receiver and gives him a chance to contend for a championship right away.

Fantasy Tip: Injuries remain a concern for Jeffery, but he has WR1 potential when he is on the field. His value will be easier to gauge once we know who he will be playing for in 2017, but he should be safe to draft as a WR2.

Titans | Tennessee will prioritize adding receivers

Tue, 28 Feb 2017 10:02:59 -0800

Impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery is one of several potential veteran or rookie lead receivers the Tennessee Titans intend to pursue, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, who added the Titans have "made it clear" they will be "very active" this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: This is not exactly a revelation, but Garafolo stated Tennessee will make "a push" to upgrade the position and "prepared to spend" in order to do so. With the Los Angeles Rams' No. 5 pick at their disposal and an estimated $62 million in cap space, it is conceivable the Titans are able to snag both Jeffery - the top receiver on the free-agent market - and Clemson's Mike Williams or Western Michigan's Corey Davis, who are projected to be the first receivers off the board in April's draft.

Mon, 27 Feb 2017 05:38:02 -0800

Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery is unlikely to receive the franchise tag and will hit the open market.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery's inability to stay healthy has kept him from reaching WR1 status in fantasy the last two years. However, he remains highly productive when he's on the field. He'll be a solid WR2 and could have bounce-back upside on another team.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery will cost pretty penny

Tue, 14 Feb 2017 11:31:45 -0800

Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery could be given the franchise tag for a second straight year. That tag would cost the Bears $17.5 million. That being said, both sides prefer a long-term deal, according to ESPN.com's Jeff Dickerson.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery will be one of the most coveted free agents on the market this offseason. The Philadelphia Eagles have been one team mentioned as a possible suitor. His fantasy value is difficult to gauge since we don't yet know where he'll be playing. It's likely that he'll be a low-end WR1 to high-end WR2, though.

Eagles | Eagles targeting Alshon Jeffery

Fri, 10 Feb 2017 12:58:10 -0800

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery has drawn interest from the Philadelphia Eagles, according to "several league sources."

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery is about to become a free agent and it would make a lot of sense that he's linked to Philadelphia, who desperately need to add a big-time receiver for rising young quarterback Carson Wentz. The five-year veteran endured his most disappointing campaign since his rookie season, marred by a four-game PED-related suspension, but could be an outstanding buy-low candidate across all leagues if he were to end up an Eagle. Jeffery is still capable of at least providing WR2 value.

Sat, 04 Feb 2017 20:03:00 -0800

Chicago Bears impending free-agent WR Alshon Jeffery did "a good job taking care of his body" during the 2016 season, according to general manager Ryan Pace. "I saw how he worked and how he prepared and kind of where his focus has been and his mindset," Pace said.

Fantasy Tip: There is a chance Jeffery ends up back in Chicago, but no matter he plays in 2017, he is going to be a high-risk, high-reward option for fantasy owners. If you can grab him for a low-end WR2 price, he is well worth the gamble.
