Bears | Alshon Jeffery sits out again

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 14:57:47 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) did not participate in practice Thursday, Aug. 27. He likely will not be able to play in the third preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery has missed several weeks of practice but is still considered day-to-day at this time. Owners should monitor the situation to see if he will be ready for the start of the regular season. He should still be an early round option in most leagues if he is able to stay healthy.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson still out

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 12:52:05 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) were not at practice again Tuesday, Aug. 25. Head coach John Fox reiterated that Jeffery is day-to-day.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery may not see any game action until the final week of the preseason or the first week of the regular season. The promising aspect of his injury is that he shed his walking boot a little over a week ago. He remains in WR1 territory. Wilson is a sleeper, especially with WR Kevin White out a while.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery day-to-day

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 14:53:07 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) is day-to-day as he continues to nurse a calf injury, according to head coach John Fox. Fox said Jeffery will be back practicing once he is medically cleared.

Fantasy Tip: As long as Jeffery doesn't aggravate the injury, he should be ready to go for the regular season. Continue to view him as a WR1.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery, Marquess Wilson out

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 11:36:08 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) did not practice Monday, Aug. 24.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery and Wilson still have a few weeks to recover before the regular season opener. The bigger concern is Jeffery, of course, as he has top-10 WR potential. Wilson is more of a sleeper, but still has decent value. Stay tuned.

Bears | Two CHI WRs don't practice

Thu, 20 Aug 2015 14:36:21 -0700

Chicago Bears WRs Alshon Jeffery (calf) and Kevin White (shin) did not practice Thursday, Aug. 20.

Fantasy Tip: This shouldn't be a big surprise. Jeffery has been nursing a calf strain for over a week now, and White is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Jeffery should still be ready for the regular season opener and is worth drafting as a WR1. White, on the other hand, could miss significant time and should be drafted with caution.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery won't play Monday

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 12:45:06 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) will not play in the Bears' second preseason game Monday, Aug. 24, as he continues to heal from a calf strain. He will travel with the team, however.

Fantasy Tip: Aside from Matt Forte, Jeffery is arguable the most valuable part of the Bears' offense, so Chicago doesn't want to take any unnecessary risks with him. As long as Jeffery is ready for the regular season opener, he remains a WR1 candidate.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery out of walking boot

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 14:12:17 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) is no longer wearing a walking boot but is not ready to participate in practice at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery does not need to rush back from his injury, so he probably will sit out a week or so in order to allow his calf to heal. Jeffery should be selected in one of the early rounds of draft since he should see plenty of targets.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery should be ready for opener

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 09:42:11 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery's (calf) calf injury is not considered serious, and he should be ready for the start of the regular season, according to general manager Ryan Pace. Pace said Jeffery will not practice this week and will not play in the second preseason game.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery probably does not need a lot of work during the preseason since he has played with Jay Cutler, so he will take his time in recovery. Jeffery should see plenty of target this season since he is the No. 1 receiver and could be an early- to middle-round option in most leagues.

Bears | Alshon Jeffery out around a week

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 14:40:22 -0700

Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) is expected to be sidelined for about a week because of a mild calf strain, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Jeffery could take his time in his recovery since he does not need a lot of time to prepare for the season. Jeffery will be the team's No. 1 receiver this season and could be selected in one of the earlier rounds of most fantasy drafts.
