Wed, 02 May 2012 06:30:23 -0700 Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie is reportedly looking to hire his twin brother, Raleigh McKenzie, to the personnel department as he continues to overhaul the front office.
Wed, 02 May 2012 04:54:36 -0700 The Oakland Raiders confirmed an earlier report that they have fired longtime scout Jon Kingdon after 33 years with the organization. Kingdon was the head of college scouting and general manager Reggie McKenzie had said earlier this offseason that he wanted to bring in his own team after the NFL Draft.
Sat, 28 Apr 2012 05:37:39 -0700 Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said OG Tony Bergstrom was the best player on the board when the team selected him No. 95 overall in the NFL Draft. "This is a blue-collar position, and he was the best player that we had up there," McKenzie said.
Wed, 25 Apr 2012 05:25:37 -0700 The Oakland Raiders are interested in New York Jets vice president of college scouting Joey Clinkscales, who will likely part ways with the team after the NFL Draft. He is a former college and high school football teammate of general manager Reggie McKenzie.
Thu, 12 Apr 2012 06:23:52 -0700 Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said he follows the best-player-available approach to drafting. "I'm not going to reach down for a player that plays a certain position," McKenzie said.
Thu, 12 Apr 2012 06:17:20 -0700 The Oakland Raiders do not have a first- or second-round pick in this year's NFL Draft; however, general manager Reggie McKenzie said he doesn't plan to trade future high picks in order to move up this year.
Thu, 12 Apr 2012 06:09:23 -0700 Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said he is looking to add more depth to the team entering the NFL Draft. "When I talk to the coaching staff about (it), we need depth," McKenzie said. "We feel like we've got players that we can line up at a lot of spots. And we've got some good players. But when you talk about a guy goes down, who do we have? We need depth at … quite a few spots."
Mon, 09 Apr 2012 07:21:47 -0700 Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said he does not regret the prior regime trading first- and second-round picks to the Cincinnati Bengals for QB Carson Palmer. McKenzie believes the team can win with Palmer. "You can beat that doggone story 'til it's worn out," said McKenzie. "But I know this: We've got a quarterback we think can win the division and take us to the playoffs. Losing a one and a two doesn't bother me one bit."
Mon, 09 Apr 2012 07:01:19 -0700 Even though Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie inherited a team that was way over the salary cap, in addition to having few draft picks, he believes he can build a winner. "Not once. Never thought I shouldn't take the job because of things like that either," McKenzie said. "It never entered my mind. I just figured, 'We'll find players.' I know how to find players. I've been in Green Bay when we found Mark Tauscher and Donald Driver late in drafts, and found Tramon Williams on the street, and signed Charles Woodson in free agency. It can be done."
Mon, 26 Mar 2012 07:25:02 -0700 Despite having little room under the salary cap to operate, Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said he has been happy with the moves the team has made this offseason. "A little bit better (than expected), because we were able to knock out a couple of areas we felt we wanted to upgrade, and fill in or solidify," McKenzie said. "We felt like the O-line as a group, we solidified big time by getting the two veterans back and the coaching staff would like to see Wiz (Stefen Wisniewski) move inside, see what he can do. They feel pretty good about that."
