Falcons | Mohamed Sanu back in action

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 04:54:13 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu caught six passes for 65 yards in a Week 7 loss to the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Tip: Considering Sanu came back from a hamstring problem, these numbers aren't bad at all. Sanu is one of the bigger weapons in the Falcons' offense and should merit WR3 or flex status in future weeks.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu still limited

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:36:52 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: It's hard not to like any offensive player in the Atlanta Falcons - New England Patriots tilt. Sanu was playing well before succumbing to his hamstring injury in Week 4. If he's not on a snap count then he's worth a look as a WR3 or flex.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu practiced on limited basis

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 15:30:01 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) was able to put in a limited practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu is on the mend and on his way to suiting up in Week 7 after being sidelined last week. The Falcons need their No. 2 wide receiver in what is shaping up to be a barn burner with the New England Patriots. Sanu's status needs to be monitored in the coming days, but if he's healthy enough to play then he warrants at least flex consideration.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu to practice this week?

Tue, 17 Oct 2017 21:33:57 -0700

Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said he is "hopeful" that WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) will return to practice this week. Sanu has been out since injuring his hamstring in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: Outside of his 85-yard performance in Week 2 Sanu has been pretty quiet this season, so odds are you'll want to see him make a positive contribution before considering him for your lineup, even against a vulnerable Patriots secondary.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu to miss Week 6

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 11:36:29 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu was expected to miss at least one game after the Week 5 bye, so this does not come as a surprise. Taylor Gabriel should see more action as a result, but Sanu's absence may be just the push the Falcons needed in order to allow Julio Jones to enjoy his first huge game of the season.

Falcons | No practice for Mohamed Sanu

Thu, 12 Oct 2017 14:12:29 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) remained a non-participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu looks doubtful for Week 6. If he does miss the Falcons' contest then Taylor Gabriel and Austin Hooper should see more targets. Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman may also be more involved in the passing game. Gabriel and Hooper are sleeper candidates in standard leagues.

Falcons | No practice for Mohamed Sanu on Wednesday

Wed, 11 Oct 2017 09:57:28 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) will not practice Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu was injured in Week 4 and was expected to miss at least one game following the team's Week 5 bye, so this should not come as a surprise. Prior to his injury, Sanu was providing WR3 production in PPR leagues, so he is worth holding onto assuming he is able to return in the next week or two.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu does not practice

Mon, 09 Oct 2017 12:25:29 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu was expected to miss multiple weeks because of the injury, so he probably will be sidelined for at least one more week. Taylor Gabriel should have a bigger role in the passing game and can be a flex option in deeper leagues this week.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu could miss 2-3 weeks

Mon, 02 Oct 2017 10:02:02 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) underwent an MRI on Monday, Oct. 2, and is expected to miss two or three weeks with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 4.

Fantasy Tip: The Falcons' have a well-timed bye in Week 5, so it is very possible Sanu will only need to sit Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins. It's unclear whether or not Atlanta will use Taylor Gabriel or Justin Hardy - or a combination of the two - to fill the void, but there isn't a ton of fantasy with any of them regardless. Sanu should be considered a low-end fantasy WR4 at best when he returns.

Sun, 01 Oct 2017 11:48:43 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Week 4 and has been ruled out for the game.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye out for an update on Sanu after the game or in the next day or two. Sanu was off to a solid start to the season, but owners should be able to find other options to use in their lineup is Sanu misses multiple games.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu useful in Sunday's win

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 21:54:47 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu managed five receptions for 85 yards in Week 2 against the Packers on six targets.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu stepped up his game and was a nice secondary target in Matt Ryan's arsenal, which is exactly why he was brought in last season. Still, he is only worth a look as a low-end WR4 or WR5 in PPR fantasy formats heading into Week 3 at Detroit.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu due for big game?

Sat, 16 Sep 2017 20:15:31 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu faces the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, and last year, he recorded a season-high nine catches for a season-high 84 yards and a touchdown against the Packers in the regular season.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu targeted nine times

Sun, 10 Sep 2017 15:37:39 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu posted six receptions for 47 yards in Week 1 at Chicago while posting a team-high nine targets.

Fantasy Tip: The Bears did a good job of containing Julio Jones, making Matt Ryan look to his secondary and tertiary options in the pass game. Despite the solid performance Sanu remains more of a WR4 or flex play in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams. The Falcons host the Packers in Week 2.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu has produced lowest drop rate

Mon, 10 Jul 2017 22:01:17 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu has registered the lowest drop rate of any receiver over the past two seasons, misplaying only three balls on 109 catchable passes (2.8 percent) within that span.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu has always boasted a reputation for having great hands, and this statistic further cements that. The 27-year-old is coming off a year in which he logged a career-high 59 catches for 653 yards and four touchdowns in his first year with the Falcons, and might be on the verge of putting up bigger numbers. He's definitely worth consideration as a WR3/FLEX option.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu locked into No. 2 spot

Fri, 07 Jul 2017 20:16:08 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu solidified himself as the No. 2 receiver with his play last season, according to John Fricke of CBS Atlanta.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu may be the No. 2 option on paper, but there is a huge gap between Julio Jones and any other player in Atlanta's passing attack. Consider him a WR5 for fantasy purposes.

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) returned to action in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers. He posted three receptions for 44 yards on three targets.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu played third fiddle behind Aldrick Robinson and Taylor Gabriel in the return, and is nothing more than a WR4 in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 16 against Carolina, as Julio Jones might be back from injury, too.

Wed, 14 Dec 2016 15:10:19 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Sanu has a decent chance to play in Week 15 after missing the last game, but owners should check on his status later in the week. He should have a solid role in the passing game and could see more targets if Julio Jones is not able to play. Sanu could be considered a flex option in some leagues.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu should return to practice

Tue, 13 Dec 2016 13:57:30 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) is expected to return to practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu hasn't done much even when he's played, and those who have made and advanced in the fantasy playoffs probably haven't used him much. He does have a favorable matchup versus the San Francisco 49ers, but starting him is too risky with so much at stake.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu a no-go for Week 14

Fri, 09 Dec 2016 11:53:54 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) has been ruled out for Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Tip: With Julio Jones already a game-time decision due to turf toe, expect a lot of the running game and Taylor Gabriel this week. Gabriel has already been performing like a low-end WR1 with just a handful of targets each week, so he is in a potential blow-up spot should Atlanta give him closer to 10.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu to miss practice

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 10:29:58 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to check on Sanu's status later in the week to see if he is in danger of missing Week 14. He has been up and down in terms of his receiving yards over the last month but has received a decent number of targets this season. He could be a flex option in deeper leagues if he plays.

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 07:26:48 -0800

Updating previous reports, Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) is in question to play in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Julio Jones (toe) is also banged up, but he's expected to be able to play. Taylor Gabriel has been a big-play machine in recent weeks with four touchdowns in a four-game stretch. He'll be an interesting WR3 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu absent Wednesday

Wed, 07 Dec 2016 13:36:55 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) missed practice Wednesday, Dec.7.

Fantasy Tip: Both Sanu and Julio Jones missed practice today, which suddenly makes Taylor Gabriel all the more intriguing. Jones and Sanu aren't necessarily out this week, but Gabriel will see more work if either of them, or both of them, are out or limited at all. Keep tabs on this situation as the week progresses.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu has groin injury

Mon, 05 Dec 2016 12:27:09 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (groin) suffered a groin injury in Week 13, but he could still practice Thursday, Dec. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu has had a disappointing inaugural campaign with the Falcons despite being their No. 2 wide receiver. He has seen a little over five targets per game, but he has only managed more than 70 yards three times and has only scored thrice, too, and his third touchdown was back on October 30. He's not a recommended start even if he plays.

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 15:17:23 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Sanu has still played well over the past month despite his Week 13 performance and has posted at least 65 yards in three of his last five games. Sanu could be a flex option in deeper leagues but probably can be avoided in most standard leagues.

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu caught eight passes for 65 yards against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 12.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu quiet in loss

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 18:32:55 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu was held to just two catches for 14 yards in the Week 10 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was targeted just two times.

Fantasy Tip: The yardage total and targets were each season lows. In contrast, Taylor Gabriel was targeted five times and he scored a touchdown for the third straight game. He appears to be taking away from Sanu's targets. Sanu is nothing more than a WR4 for fantasy owners in Week 12 once the team returns from a bye.

Thu, 03 Nov 2016 22:20:50 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu posted five receptions for 74 yards on seven targets in the Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday, Nov. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Sanu has 14 grabs for 158 yards and a touchdown over his past two games, and he is worth a look as a WR3 in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 10 in Philadelphia.

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu posted nine receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Week 8 game against the Green Bay Packers. He was targeted 10 times.

Fantasy Tip: Julio Jones was a little banged up in the second half and Sanu filled the role of No. 1 receiver well, snagging the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Sanu should be treated as a WR3 heading into Week 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team with a very poor pass defense.

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu is completely recovered from shoulder and groin injuries, according to head coach Dan Quinn, and Quinn said he has been happy with Sanu's play this season.

Fantasy Tip: He hasn't topped 50 yards or scored since Week 1, and despite Quinn's comments, Sanu hasn't proven himself worthy of starting in any fantasy format.
