Sat, 26 May 2012 05:30:58 -0700 Washington Redskins WR Santana Moss believes QB Robert Griffin III has the talent to be successful; however, he will need time to develop. "It's one of those situations where he is a young guy and at the end of the day, regardless how much his skill level is better than other young guys like himself, he still has to learn a lot," Moss said. "So that's one thing I want everyone to understand that he comes here with the big hope of turning everything around. We are all hoping that. We all want that, but I don't want that pressure on him as if he has to be the one. Together we have to be a team around him to help him bring us to where we have to be at."

Head coach Mike Shanahan watched from the opposite sideline, and will work to tailor the offense to Griffin's skill set. "One thing that the NFL is not used to is a quarterback with his type of speed and his type of throwing ability," Shanahan said. "I think we can do some things that people haven't done."

"I thought Kirk would've been gone long before the fourth round, and when he's sitting there, and you have a high grade on him, it's like you can't lose with that pick, in my opinion," LaFleur said. "You can never have enough good players, especially at arguably the most important position of all of sports. This is a nasty game where some times things happen, and you have to go with somebody else, so we want to make sure we're secure at that position."

Thu, 26 Apr 2012 07:04:55 -0700 Baylor QB Robert Griffin III believes the Indianapolis Colts finalized their plans to select Stanford QB Andrew Luck first overall in the NFL Draft after Griffin declined the team's request for a private workout. Griffin and Luck both had impressive Pro Days, but the Colts wanted to host both for private workouts to take final looks at each passer. Luck obliged. Griffin did not. After Griffin turned the Colts down, the team stopped showing interest in him, he said. "They offered me a private workout and we refused. I didn't do any private workouts for anybody," Griffin said. "After that, I think feelings might've been hurt or something like that. I went to D.C. on a visit and (Indianapolis) didn't offer a visit at all, and so we kind of knew what direction they were going. But Andrew's their guy. You can't be mad about that."
