Redskins | Robert Griffin to receive another chance

Fri, 09 Jan 2015 14:43:18 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III likely will be given another chance to succeed, because teams should not give up on young quarterbacks, according to general manager Scot McCloughan. McCoughlan said Griffin needs to be surrounded by a strong running attack and a more reliable offensive line.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Griffin will be the leading candidate for the starting quarterback entering training camp next season. Griffin probably should not be considered as a starting quarterback in drafts next season but could be a No. 2 quarterback.

Redskins | Jay Gruden does not commit to QB

Mon, 29 Dec 2014 17:58:06 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III and the rest of the team's quarterbacks will be evaluated methodically during the offseason before a decision on a starter for the 2015 season is made, head coach Jay Gruden said Monday, Dec. 29.

Fantasy Tip: Gruden wasn't around when Griffin was drafted, but given how much the franchise gave up in order to acquire Griffin, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him earn another shot at the starting gig. He is at least worth a speculative add as a QB2 in drafts next year just in case he recaptures the form he showed in his rookie year.

Redskins | Kirk Cousins itching for opportunity

Mon, 29 Dec 2014 08:49:33 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said it would be tough to return to the team in 2015 if QB Robert Griffin III was given the starting job. Cousins said he would talk to the front office.

Fantasy Tip: Cousins would be a mid-to-low QB2 if he became a starting quarterback with Washington or elsewhere. Griffin has more upside because of the added running element, but he's in the same boat in traditional leagues.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III expected to play

Fri, 26 Dec 2014 13:17:15 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 26, and is listed as probable for Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin should be able to play despite suffering the shoulder injury in Week 16. Griffin will be facing a tough Dallas Cowboys defense this week and likely is not the best option to use on FantasyScore.

Redskins | Limited practice for Robert Griffin

Thu, 25 Dec 2014 16:31:13 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 25. The Redskins did not practice Thursday, so this is an estimation.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to see if he can practice Friday, Dec. 26, before considering him for their lineups. Kirk Cousins could start if Griffin is not able to play. Neither quarterback is a great option on FantasyScore this week.

Redskins | Robert Griffin likely to play

Wed, 24 Dec 2014 14:14:57 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (shoulder) is likely to play in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys despite dealing with a sprained right shoulder, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Griffin was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 24. "He can throw the ball, it's just a little sore," Gruden said. "We just want to make sure he doesn't aggravate it more, give him another couple days of rest and be ready to go Friday."

Fantasy Tip: Griffin ($5,555) should play in the season finale, but he doesn't inspire much confidence for your FantasyScore lineups, especially if he's not 100 percent facing the Dallas Cowboys.

Redskins | Robert Griffin limited

Wed, 24 Dec 2014 09:36:03 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 24, because of a sprained shoulder. Head coach Jay Gruden said he does not believe Griffin's injury is serious.

Fantasy Tip: Owners should watch Griffin's practice participation during the week to see if the injury affects his Week 17 status. Owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options to use than Griffin.

Redskins | Redskins looking for wins from QB

Mon, 22 Dec 2014 10:39:18 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was benched earlier in the season in part because head coach Jay Gruden is looking for a quarterback that could lead the team to wins. "That is the No. 1 factor, and that is it," Gruden said. "Obviously you look at the production and all that stuff, and what he could've done maybe, but winning football games is the only thing that matters to me for a quarterback. And it doesn't matter if they go 12-for-24 for 80 yards and we win, or if they go 28-for-35 for 400 [yards] and we lose, you'd rather have the 12-for-24. The ability to manage a game, stay away from the big turnovers and get the W is all that counts."

Fantasy Tip: Griffin will be starting in Week 17 after having a decent performance in Week 16. Griffin will be facing a tough Dallas Cowboys defense this week and may not be the best option for owners this week.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III earns praise

Sat, 20 Dec 2014 17:44:43 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was praised by head coach Jay Gruden following the team's 27-24 win over the Philadelphia Eagles Saturday, Dec. 20. "He competed, man...I'm happy for Robert," Gruden said.

Fantasy Tip: Although Griffin was efficient, he threw for no touchdowns and an interception and ran for just 11 yards. He has a long way to go before becoming a QB1 option for fantasy owners.

Redskins | Colt McCoy not expected to play in Week 16

Mon, 15 Dec 2014 13:06:26 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Colt McCoy (neck) is not expected to be active for the team's Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. As a result, QB Robert Griffin III is expected to receive the start against the Eagles. "He's got every chance this week against the Philadelphia Eagles to take this position and run with it," head coach Jay Gruden said.

Fantasy Tip: With McCoy likely out, Griffin could be a sleeper option as your starting QB at FantasyScore. Griffin showed flashes of his old self in the Week 15 loss, and the Eagles have been pretty generous to opposing QBs all season long.

Redskins | Robert Griffin expected to start

Mon, 15 Dec 2014 11:58:49 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III is expected to be the starting quarterback for Week 16, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin has struggled at times this season but will be facing a Philadelphia Eagles defense that has had problems with opposing quarterbacks this season. Griffin is a very risky option on FantasyScore at any price, but he could be a starting candidate for owners looking to save some money at the position if his price is low enough.

Redskins | 'Skins starting QB up in air

Mon, 15 Dec 2014 09:34:28 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was 18-for-27 for 236 yards and a touchdown in the team's loss to the New York Giants in Week 15, and head coach Jay Gruden is unsure if Griffin will start again in Week 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Gruden wants to watch film and learn more about QB Colt McCoy's (neck) injury. "(Griffin) is obviously in the mix," Gruden said. "He came out here and competed, which I liked. Made some good throws and made some great plays with his legs, but from a consistent standpoint, the production on third downs and the lack of production in the second half (offensively) was concerning. I'll have to check the film to give him a total grade." McCoy headed for the locker room after the first series of the game.

Fantasy Tip: The Eagles present whoever is starting at QB for the Redskins with a golden chance to put up some big numbers, especially if Washington is forced to go to the air early and often. The Eagles have allowed the third most fantasy points per week to opposing QBs this year (19.76). Consider McCoy or Griffin to be a sleeper at FantasyScore this weekend.

Redskins | RG3 needs to transition to pocket passer

Fri, 12 Dec 2014 16:20:26 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III needs to do a better job working to become more of a pocket passer and improve his decisiveness on the football field. The team is hoping Griffin will buy into the fact that he needs to transition into more of a passer, and ESPN.com's John Keim gets the sense that the 'Skins want him to work less in the weight room and more in the film room. As Griffin has lost explosiveness due to injuries, opposing teams are defending him differently, blitzing him more and forcing him to be more decisive as a pocket passer.

Fantasy Tip: You can likely forget about using Griffin for the rest of the season at FantasyScore now that Colt McCoy (neck) avoided a serious injury. As for next season, the expectations for Griffin's fantasy value have dropped significantly, and you'll likely be able to snag him late in drafts as a backup QB with upside.

Redskins | Colt McCoy to start if healthy

Thu, 11 Dec 2014 10:34:07 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Colt McCoy (neck) will start in Week 15 if he is cleared to play by the doctors, according to head coach Jay Gruden. QB Robert Griffin III likely would start if McCoy is not able to play.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy was able to do some things during practice Wednesday, Dec. 10, but the next few days will be important for his status. Both McCoy and Griffin cost $4,200 on FantasyScore, but owners should stay away from the Redskins starting quarterback this week.

Redskins | Colt McCoy's status in doubt

Tue, 09 Dec 2014 10:17:42 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Colt McCoy (neck) has no structural damage to his neck, and his injury is not believed to be career-ending. However, there is doubt that he'll be able to play in Week 15 against the New York Giants. The team wants to see some range of motion and flexibility from McCoy as the week progresses. McCoy visited with a specialist Monday, Dec. 8. QB Robert Griffin III would start if McCoy is out against the Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Neither McCoy ($4,200) or Griffin ($4,200) would be comfortable quarterbacks to run with at FantasyScore this weekend, even if they are facing the Giants.

Redskins | Robert Griffin would start if McCoy can't

Mon, 08 Dec 2014 12:09:03 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III would start if QB Colt McCoy (neck) is unable to play. McCoy suffered a neck strain in Week 14.

Fantasy Tip: Neither one of these quarterbacks are worth investing in at this point in the season with fantasy playoffs underway. They're just too unreliable, unless you want value at other positions on FantasyScore.

Redskins | Robert Griffin finishes up game

Sun, 07 Dec 2014 17:46:09 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III finished up the Week 14 game against the St. Louis Rams after QB Colt McCoy (neck) left due to injury in the fourth quarter. Griffin completed three of his four passes for 33 yards and was sacked once in five total snaps. "I didn't know if I was going to get an opportunity," Griffin said Sunday, Dec. 7. "It's not my focus. My focus is to help this team win all week, helping the defense (prepare in practice) and then being ready to play if I am called upon."

Fantasy Tip: Griffin could very well make the start in Week 15, whether McCoy is injured or not. Colt McCoy had a 54.0 passer rating, the lowest of his four appearances this season.

Redskins | Jay Gruden's job at risk

Sat, 06 Dec 2014 16:22:53 -0800

The Washington Redskins may fire head coach Jay Gruden after the season. Multiple team employees revealed that Gruden is done with QB Robert Griffin III's spotlight-craving antics and shortcomings in the pocket. An unnamed Redskins official leaked a report that Griffin could start again this season, which lends credibility to the thought that owner Daniel Snyder and general manager Bruce Allen are still in Griffin's court. Gruden believes he needs a clean break from Griffin to focus on fixing Washington's 3-9 team. And if Snyder and Allen commit to Griffin as the starter in 2015, Gruden could be "one and done," a team official said.

Redskins | Robert Griffin could still start in 2014

Thu, 04 Dec 2014 16:47:35 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has a good chance of starting again before season's end, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin hasn't done much to prove he's worth starting in fantasy lineups, however. For Week 14, Colt McCoy ($5,900, 11.8%) is a cheaper option with a decent matchup versus the St. Louis Rams.

Redskins | RG3 will not start in Week 14

Sun, 30 Nov 2014 18:13:02 -0800

Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said Sunday, Nov. 30, that QB Colt McCoy will remain as the starting quarterback in Week 14, so RB Robert Griffin III will likely serve as backup.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin dressed as the backup Sunday, but he did not get into the game. McCoy threw for more than 300 yards with three touchdowns, so FantasyScore owners will want to look his way if the price is right, and obviously avoid RG3.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III likely done with team

Thu, 27 Nov 2014 06:46:23 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III is highly unlikely to return to the team next season, sources within the organization said. Head coach Jay Gruden convinced owner Daniel Snyder and team president/general manager Bruce Allen that chance was necessary. Some within the organization feel Griffin should have spent less time in the weight room and more on honing other parts of his game.

Fantasy Tip: There will likely be several teams interested in RG III. However, barring injury to Colt McCoy, and possibly Kirk Cousins, Griffin's fantasy value is toast this season.

Redskins | Robert Griffin needs more seasoning

Wed, 26 Nov 2014 11:47:19 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III needs more seasoning, and he'll likely do it from the bench for the rest of this season, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Griffin is under contract for one more year, and he could still be in their long-term plans. "Robert has done some good things at quarterback, but I just think he needs a little bit more time in this system with the verbiage and the plays to sit back, take a step back and learn, and when he gets back in there he'll be a lot more decisive, hopefully, and ready to roll," Gruden said. The 'Skins want Griffin to eventually become more of a pocket passer, and they want him to be able to regain confidence in his abilities.

Fantasy Tip: Gruden should be dumped in all standard leagues at this point. In his place will be Colt McCoy, who'll get the start in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts. McCoy ($3,700) doesn't have much upside, making him an unattractive FantasyScore weapon as your QB.

Redskins | Colt McCoy officially starting

Wed, 26 Nov 2014 06:33:02 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has officially been benched in favor of QB Colt McCoy in Week 13. Head coach Jay Gruden informed the team Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Fantasy Tip: McCoy ($3,700; 7.4% of your cap) is cheap on FantasyScore, but quarterback is too important of a position to skimp on.

Redskins | RG3 still part of long-term plan

Tue, 25 Nov 2014 20:36:14 -0800

The Washington Redskins are planning on benching QB Robert Griffin III for the Week 13 game against the Indianapolis Colts in favor of QB Colt McCoy. However, Griffin still appears to be part of the team's long-term plan, another source said Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Fantasy Tip: RG3 is an obvious must-sit in FantasyScore, and his replacement Colt McCoy might be a nice sleeper at just $3,700 (or 7.4 percent of the cap).

Redskins | 'Skins leave door open for QB change?

Tue, 25 Nov 2014 11:42:47 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was named the starter for Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts Monday, Nov. 24, by head coach Jay Gruden, but he left open some wiggle room to make a change during the week. "It's Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, and right now we have every intent for Robert, but we'll look at the tape and make our evaluations here shortly," Gruden said.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin has been pretty awful the last several weeks, and his mechanics are mostly to blame. At $5,600 (11.2% of cap), Griffin isn't terribly expensive for your daily lineups, but it's hard to trust him these days, especially when a benching could come very soon if he continues to struggle.

Redskins | Robert Griffin will start in Week 13

Mon, 24 Nov 2014 12:23:10 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III will start Sunday, Nov. 30, against the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin has been a huge disappointment this year both in real life and in fantasy football. He's not worth starting until he gets back on track.

Redskins | Clock ticking on Robert Griffin III

Sun, 23 Nov 2014 07:07:16 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's point of emphasis is to get the ball out quickly Sunday, Nov. 23. Head coach Jay Gruden has dumbed down the offense to allow quick throws to playmakers and make for easy reads. The landscape within the organization has changed for Griffin, though. Gruden has the authority to bench Griffin, and it could happen if he doesn't play well enough. Things behind the scenes, like special rules allowing Griffin's family to have total access to the facility, has changed as well.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin ($5,600; 11.2% of your cap) isn't worth the start this weekend as there are much more favorable options on FantasyScore.

Redskins | Robert Griffin critiqued by coach

Mon, 17 Nov 2014 12:21:44 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III had fundamental flaws and below average footwork Sunday, Nov. 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: It remains to be seen if this is more than just postgame tension. Griffin has struggled since returning from injury, but there haven't been any rumblings of Kirk Cousins taking back the starting job. Griffin has a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. If possible, look elsewhere at the quarterback position.

Redskins | Robert Griffin should play

Fri, 14 Nov 2014 11:41:52 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Nov. 14, and is listed as probable for Week 11.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin should be able to start his second straight game after coming back from his ankle injury. Griffin has a price of $5,900 on FantasyScore, but owners may want to use a bit more money for a better option at the position.

Redskins | Robert Griffin practices fully

Thu, 13 Nov 2014 13:21:07 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 13.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin has been underwhelming since his return from a dislocated ankle. The Redskins figure to lean heavily on their running game (Alfred Morris) this week, but Griffin could at least provide a nice bye-week filler at $5,900 on FantasyScore, though you can find better value elsewhere.

Redskins | Robert Griffin a full go

Wed, 12 Nov 2014 13:44:20 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Fantasy Tip: The bye week came at a perfect time for Griffin ($5,900) and the Redskins. He was able to heal up some more and received some valuable time to put in extra repetitions in the offense. Griffin is a perfect under-the-radar option for FantasyScore lineups against a bad Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense.

Redskins | Robert Griffin must prove more

Tue, 04 Nov 2014 13:04:32 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III returned to action in Week 9, but head coach Jay Gruden said he must continue to prove that he's the team's starting quarterback. "You start out with Robert, you give him all the reps in training camp and then he hurts his ankle and misses five or six weeks," Gruden said. "We get a look at Kirk (Cousins). We get a good look at Colt (McCoy) and now it's back to Robert. So, the jury is still out on that position. But we feel good about Robert's progress so far." Gruden indicated that Griffin's performance over the rest of the season will go a long way in determining if he's the quarterback of the future in Washington. Gruden would like to see Griffin get rid of the ball quicker; he was sacked five times in Week 9.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin wasn't terrible, but he wasn't great, either, in his return. The good news is that he moved around well and didn't have any setbacks. Griffin can't be trusted yet as a must-start in fantasy football, but he can be a nice matchup play down the stretch.

Redskins | RG III decision came from above

Sun, 02 Nov 2014 07:36:54 -0800

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) is starting Sunday, Nov. 2, in a decision that was made by management above head coach Jay Gruden. However, an executive told ESPN's Adam Schefter "that is laughable."

Fantasy Tip: Give Griffin a week to knock the rust off before considering him in most fantasy formats.

Redskins | Robert Griffin probable

Fri, 31 Oct 2014 14:52:22 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) practiced in full for the third straight day Friday, Oct. 31, and is probable for Week 9 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: It's tempting to want to start Griffin in the matchup against the Vikes. But remember that it's Griffin's first start back, and he's likely to be shaking off some rust in this one. Hold off and look to start him after the team's Week 10 bye.

Redskins | Robert Griffin is ready to return

Fri, 31 Oct 2014 11:47:22 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) received the majority of the first-team repetitions in practice this week, and Griffin feels completely healthy and ready to return to the starting lineup. "If there is any rust, I'll lean on the guys," Griffin said. "It's a game we need. They have a great defense, but I'll lean on my guys to help get me through this game and work with me. I expect them to make a ton of plays, just like they expect me to make a ton of plays. If there is any rust, I'm sure they'll overshadow it because they're playing at a high level right now." He won't be limited at all, meaning the read-zone option is a possibility, along with plays that require him to leave the pocket.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin isn't available at FantasyScore this week, and that's probably a good thing. You'll probably want to avoid using him until after the team's Week 10 bye, anyway. Expect Griffin to lean heavily on his favorite target, Pierre Garcon, when he goes to the air.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday, Oct. 30.

Redskins | 'Skins intent on starting Robert Griffin

Thu, 30 Oct 2014 13:50:11 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) will start against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, barring any setbacks this week in practice, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Gruden and the coaching staff are intent on Griffin starting, and Gruden said it would take Griffin re-injuring his ankle for him not to play. "We have every intent of him starting," Gruden said. "Everybody's on board as far from a physical standpoint. Last week he was running around like a banchi. He's healthier than most of the guys we have playing. From a physical standpoint he's ready but for a young quarterback who missed this much time in a new system, the big thing is getting back from a mental standpoint." Griffin increased his workload with the first team Thursday, Oct. 30.

Fantasy Tip: The Redskins are fully convinced that Griffin is 100 percent healthy mentally and physically. However, that doesn't mean it's safe to immediately plug him back into your fantasy lineups. It's probably best to wait until after the team's Week 10 bye to trust Griffin.

Redskins | Robert Griffin works with starters

Thu, 30 Oct 2014 10:26:13 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) received most of the work with the first-team offense during practice Thursday, Oct. 30, and will start in Week 9 if he does not have any setbacks, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Gruden said the team believes Griffin is 100 percent physically but want to make sure he is up to speed mentally.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin should be the starting quarterback in Week 9 but could be rusty after missing several weeks. Owners can start Griffin this week but may want to lower their expectations.

Redskins | Robert Griffin could play in Week 9

Wed, 29 Oct 2014 13:11:57 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) could play against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Griffin practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 29, and split first-team repetitions with QB Colt McCoy. Gruden said Griffin's situation is now more mental than physical. "We'll see it's all going to depend on how he does in tomorrow and Friday," Gruden said. "And moving forward, how I feel he's coming back. From a physical standpoint he looks good, now it's a matter of mental and getting back into the football part of it. If he looks good in that regard then there's a chance he could play and if not and he needs another week, he'll take another week."

Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately, Griffin isn't available to play at FantasyScore this weekend, but he should now be owned in all other leagues with his return right around the corner. McCoy played surprisingly well on Monday night, but he's a desperation sleeper play against the Vikes.

Redskins | Robert Griffin very close to return

Tue, 28 Oct 2014 14:39:06 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) is "very, very, very close" to returning to game action, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "Physically I think he'll be ready to go. Doctors are feeling pretty good about it, they still want to feel around this week until we make the final determination. I just want to make sure he feels good in the pocket," Gruden said. The Redskins still don't want to rush Griffin back too soon, though, so the evaluation of him could last another week.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin should be owned in all fantasy football leagues at this point. How he looks in practice this week will likely determine if he plays against the Minnesota Vikings. Colt McCoy ($3,900) played surprisingly well in the Week 8 win, though, so he could see another crack at it.

Redskins | Robert Griffin says he won't rush

Fri, 24 Oct 2014 11:46:36 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) said he won't rush back to play until his ankle is fully healed. "It's our job to help this team win, and I've been there for Kirk (Cousins) and Colt (McCoy) as much as I possibly can, and being there for this team to make sure they're as ready as possible during this process. And it sucks that I can't get out there and play with them and help them get wins, but I've been listening to the doctors, listening to the trainers, listening to the coaches and we're not going to rush my ankle," Griffin said. The team is leaving open the possibility that Griffin will play Monday, Oct. 27, against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fantasy Tip: We don't expect Griffin to start against the Cowboys. It'll be Colt McCoy's show, but we don't recommend him for your FantasyScore lineups.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III decision Monday

Fri, 24 Oct 2014 10:48:50 -0700

A decision on if Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) will play in Week 8 will come Monday, Oct. 27, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Fantasy Tip: It would seem very unlikely that Griffin would be ready to go this week, and with a Monday night game, it is too risky to put him in your lineup. Look elsewhere in FantasyScore this week.

Redskins | Robert Griffin III back in Week 11?

Thu, 23 Oct 2014 18:38:41 -0700

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) could return in Week 11, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "I would think I would guarantee Tampa, most likely, unless something happens between now and then," Gruden said Thursday, Oct. 23. "You've got a good bye week, you've got a couple weeks to make sure it's ready. Obviously Robert is a quick healer. He works extremely hard in the training room. So the process could be sped up a little bit depending on how he feels."

Fantasy Tip: While RGIII will have to shake off some rust whenever he does suit up, a Week 11 return would give him a favorable matchup with a struggling Tampa Bay team right out of the gate.
