Browns | Robert Griffin III sacked five times

Fri, 26 Aug 2016 20:57:18 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III was sacked five times in a 30-13 preseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday, Aug. 26. He completed eight of his 14 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown and ran once for four yards.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin was under pressure early and often. He has shown flashes of upside, but he is likely to remain hit and miss all season. He is a late-round lottery ticket.

Browns | Robert Griffin III plays well

Thu, 18 Aug 2016 20:58:33 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III completed six of his eight passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns and ran three times for 36 yards in a 24-13 preseason loss to the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, Aug. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin looked much better in his second preseason game, and with Hue Jackson as his head coach, he could put together a decent season. He is too risky to trust as your fantasy starter, but he should be owned as backup.

Browns | Robert Griffin III fails to impress

Fri, 12 Aug 2016 21:06:01 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III completed four of his eight pass attempts for 67 yards and an interception in a 17-11 preseason loss to the Green Bay Packers Friday, Aug. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin is set to open the season as the starter and is worth taking a chance on as a high-risk, high-reward backup.

Browns | Robert Griffin excites head coach

Mon, 08 Aug 2016 15:17:30 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III has head coach Hue Jackson "tickled pink" with the possibility of what Griffin can do this season.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson can be tickled whatever color he wants to be, but Griffin is a risky draft choice. He has a subpar receiving corps, is in a new system and has a less-than-enviable injury history. Continue to view him as a backup fantasy quarterback.

Browns | Robert Griffin III named starter

Mon, 08 Aug 2016 06:38:03 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III was named the starting quarterback Monday, Aug. 8, by head coach Hue Jackson.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin will be playing for his NFL livelihood this season as it could be his last real shot to distinguish himself as a starter. He has talent at running back and tight end to work with, but his receiving corps leaves much to be desired until Josh Gordon returns. RG III is a QB2 in fantasy that could be used as a bye-week starter.

Browns | Robert Griffin III set to start?

Sat, 06 Aug 2016 18:35:48 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III has improved every day and has "accepted every challenge" given to him, head coach Hue Jackson said Saturday, Aug. 6. Jackson also said he is "very close" to naming a starting quarterback.

Fantasy Tip: It seems unlikely Griffin can recapture the form he showed as a rookie, especially in Cleveland, but he is still worth grabbing as a mid-level QB2. There is a chance you could catch lightning in a bottle and have a strong backup or an attractive trade chip.

Browns | Corey Coleman showing nose for end zone

Thu, 04 Aug 2016 19:57:44 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman was praised for his ability to find the end zone by offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, QB Josh McCown and QB Robert Griffin III.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman continues to draw tons of praise during training camp, and he should be drafted as a WR4 with upside in season-long leagues.

Browns | Corey Coleman has chemistry with QB

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 13:23:19 -0700

Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman has shown good chemistry with QB Robert Griffin III during the early part of training camp. The two have connected on deep passes as well as in the red zone for touchdowns. Griffin and Coleman worked out together during the offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Coleman likely will be one of the starting receivers for the Browns this season and should receive plenty of targets. He should be considered a middle-round option that could be a starting candidate most weeks.

Browns | RG3 helped out by Josh McCown

Tue, 02 Aug 2016 20:25:38 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III has improved by "leaps and bounds" as a leader, partly due to veteran QB Josh McCown guiding him, head coach Hue Jackson said Tuesday, Aug. 2. "A lot of him getting better has to do with Josh McCown," Jackson said. "Josh McCown has really done a great job of spending time with him and mentoring him … to try and make the biggest jump that he can. Our quarterback room is a special place right now."

Fantasy Tip: Griffin has a long way to go before he is considered anything more than a backup fantasy option in most leagues. The only time RG3 should be starting is in fantasy formats which require two starting signal callers.

Browns | Robert Griffin works with starters

Fri, 29 Jul 2016 15:31:12 -0700

Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III received all of the snaps with the first-team offense during practice Friday, July 29. QB Josh McCown worked with the second-team offense during practice.

Fantasy Tip: Griffin appears to the clear favorite to win the starting quarterback job. He will not have a lot of weapons to work with in the passing game this season and should be seen as a low-end No. 2 quarterback in most leagues.
