Fantasy Tip: RG III appears to be the team's starter, but he'll have a short leash during the season. He's a midrange QB2 in fantasy.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin to make strides in '15?|
Mon, 11 May 2015 13:35:29 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III should be comfortable enough with the offense to improve this season, according to head coach Jay Gruden. "Everything should come a lot more natural for [Griffin], and hopefully, we see that transition from year one to year two in this system with the terminology and knowing where to go with your footwork and anticipation of getting the ball out quicker," Gruden said.
Fantasy Tip: It will certainly be hard not to improve this year after a tumultuous 2014 campaign that ended prematurely because of a dislocated ankle. If he's comfortable enough with the offense and if he can play a full season up to his potential, he can end up in QB1 range this season.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin's option picked up|
Mon, 27 Apr 2015 09:45:27 -0700
Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's 2016 option was picked up Monday, April 27. He will make $16.2 million in 2016, and he'll have a base salary of $3.27 million in 2015. The fifth-year option is guaranteed for injury only, meaning the Redskins could release him before the 2016 season without salary cap ramifications.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin is expected to be the starting in training camp and leading up to Week 1, but beyond that, not much is guaranteed for him unless he delivers on the field. He hasn't done much since an impressive rookie season in 2012, mainly due to injuries. Griffin has plenty of upside left, though, and he's a high-end QB2 in traditional leagues, with plenty or risk/reward.

Fantasy Tip: After basically two lost seasons, Griffin is in a make-or-break year. He's a high-end QB2 in two-quarterback leagues.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III is doing what he needs to do in order to improve, according to WR DeSean Jackson. Jackson added that the offense needs to build their camaraderie and increase its chemistry for them to improve on a four-win 2014 season.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin first needs to stay on the field. He's only played in 24 games the last two seasons. If he can stay healthy, he's worth starter consideration with his dual-threat ability.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin OK without option?|
Mon, 20 Apr 2015 15:00:42 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III said he wouldn't be "bummed" if the Redskins did not pick up his 2016 option. "I just want to win. I want to win games and have fun doing it. The rest will take care of itself," Griffin said.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin seems more relaxed and stress-free heading into the 2015 season. He has a lot to prove after a tumultuous 2014 campaign. Griffin should be regarded as a low-end QB2 with fantasy drafts approaching.

|Redskins | Washington not giving up on RG3|
Mon, 30 Mar 2015 13:57:22 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III isn't being given up on by the team's executives, according to executive Doug Williams. "This is a young guy that's got some talent," Williams said. "There are adjustments that he has to make if I think given time, and I think that's one of the reasons why nobody has given up on him. With the talent that he does have, you're hoping that the last couple of years with the injuries and everything is out of the way, that he will develop into the guy that we all hope for him to be. I think it's fair to give him that opportunity."
Fantasy Tip: Griffin will enter training camp as the team's starter, but he'll have to perform well to hold off Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy. Griffin could likely have a short leash with the coaching staff, too. On top of his injury history in recent seasons, Griffin is a high-risk, high-reward fantasy option as a QB2.

|Redskins | Competition not going away for RGIII|
Sun, 29 Mar 2015 16:28:32 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III will be the first-team quarterback during offseason workouts, according to head Jay Gruden, but Gruden also said he expects QB Kirk Cousins and QB Colt McCoy to be on the roster when the regular season begins.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin has the most upside among the three, but his injury history and the lack of support he seems to have received from the coaching staff at times makes him a high-risk, high-reward fantasy option. He is worth taking a chance on in drafts but only after you have secured a more reliable starting quarterback.

|Redskins | Robert Griffin's option to be picked up?|
Tue, 24 Mar 2015 13:56:17 -0700
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's option must be picked up by May 3. General manager Scot McCloughan said the team has had discussions about Griffin's option and that they are still talking it through.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin has had trouble staying healthy so far in his young career, so it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see Griffin be released. When healthy, however, Griffin is a tremendous dual-threat fantasy quarterback. Stay tuned leading up to the May 3 deadline.

|Redskins | Washington willing to draft QB early|
Tue, 24 Mar 2015 13:30:43 -0700
Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan said that the team will go with the best player available in the 2015 NFL Draft with the No. 5 overall pick, which means that they could take a quarterback in that spot. McCloughan could be compelled to take Oregon QB Marcus Mariota if he's available at No. 5, even after the team said QB Robert Griffin III was the team's starter a month ago. McCloughan doesn't think anyone will be handed a job, and they'll have to compete to win a spot.
Fantasy Tip: Griffin is the team's starting quarterback right now, but he'll have to earn it in training camp this summer, and that task will become tougher if Mariota is on the roster in July. If Griffin indeed winds up being the starter in Week 1, he'll have to prove himself in the fantasy landscape as well. Consider him a QB2 with upside for more if he stays healthy.
