DeVito, Grubbs and Wilson didn't practice Friday, Oct. 30, while Hali, Mauga and Poe practiced in full.

LB Tamba Hali (knee), LB Josh Mauga (Achilles', groin) and DT Dontari Poe (ankle) were listed as questionable, while SS Husain Abdullah (biceps) and LB Justin Houston (elbow) are listed as probable. DeVito, Hali and Wilson did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 23. Mauga and Poe were limited during practice, while Abdullah and Houston fully participated in practice.

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs DT Dontari Poe (back) underwent surgery on his herniated disk July 15. Poe will miss training camp, but head coach Andy Reid said there's a chance Poe is able to return in the early part of the season depending on how he recovers.

Kansas City Chiefs DT Dontari Poe was praised by head coach Andy Reid recently. Reid said to get Poe off the field you have to pull him off and that he is "not one to tap out." Reid added that there was no decline in Poe's play later on last season, despite how often Poe was on the field. Poe should continue to see plenty of work again this season as the Chiefs did not add a nose tackle to take Poe's place.

"He needs to work on technique, he needs to work on understanding the system, he needs to get the calls correct all the time. He's got a ways to go," Crennel said.

Kansas City Chiefs DL Dontari Poe acknowledged the difficulty of adjusting to the NFL game. "It's all different," Poe said Wednesday, Aug. 8. "The technique of it, there's nothing the same about the college level. The only thing the same is that it's football. As far as the speed level and the strength and all that, you've got to learn it all over again." Poe remains behind DL Anthony Toribio at the nose tackle position on the depth chart, and Poe enters the lineup on obvious passing downs when the Chiefs use their nickel defense.
