Yankees | Four Yankees regulars sitting Friday

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 13:34:21 -0700

New York Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury, 1B Mark Teixeira, C Brian McCann and SS Didi Gregorius are out of the starting lineup against San Francisco Giants left-handed SP Madison Bumgarner Friday, July 22. OF Aaron Hicks is in center field and hitting eighth, 2B Rob Refsnyder is at second and batting sixth, C Austin Romine is behind the dish and hitting seventh and 2B Ronald Torreyes is at the 6 and batting ninth. Also, 2B Starlin Castro moves up to the two-hole.

Fantasy Tip: All four players sitting are left-handed, which makes since with MadBum being one of the tougher southpaws in the league. None of Hicks, Refsnyder, Romine or Torreyes should be anything more than desperation daily stabs in the tough matchup. Castro, however, might be a contrarian play with the move up the batting order given the fact he's also been swinging a hot stick.

Yankees | Chase Headley out Thursday

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 08:11:32 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Chase Headley (personal) is out of the lineup again Thursday, July 21, and 3B Alex Rodriguez is hitting seventh. 3B Ronald Torreyes is hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: A-Rod has struggled all year, but he is hitting .368 with five homers in 19 career at-bats against Chris Tillman. He's worth a speculative flyer today. Torreyes is hitting just .224 and warrants little consideration.

Yankees | Chase Headley out for personal reasons

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 14:35:04 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Chase Headley has been excused from the lineup Wednesday, July 20, for personal reasons. He'll be with the team Wednesday, though. 2B Ronald Torreyes is starting at third base in Headley's absence.

Fantasy Tip: Headley doesn't do anything particularly well in any one category with a .252 average, nine home runs and 30 RBI, so you should only employ him in AL-only leagues. Torreyes is hitting just .219 with no homers and five RBI in 64 at-bats and has zero fantasy upside.

Yankees | Carlos Beltran, Chase Headley sitting

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 13:02:21 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran and 3B Chase Headley are not in the starting lineup against San Diego Padres SP Andrew Cashner Sunday, July 3. OF Aaron Hicks will start in right field and is batting seventh, while 3B Ronald Torreyes will start at third base and is batting eighth. 3B Alex Rodriguez is also out of the lineup because the team can't use a designated in National League stadiums.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks has only one hit in his last 22 at-bats and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues. Torreyes is hitting only .237 with five RBI this season and is not a strong option in any league.

Yankees | Carlos Beltran, Starlin Castro out

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 08:07:16 -0700

New York Yankees OF Carlos Beltran (hamstring) and 2B Starlin Castro are out of the lineup Thursday, June 30, with OF Aaron Hicks hitting eighth and 2B Ronald Torreyes hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Neither Hicks nor Torreyes provide enough offensive certainty to use as a flyer against A.J. Griffin today.

Yankees | Chase Headley, Rob Refsnyder out

Wed, 08 Jun 2016 14:00:22 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Chase Headley and 2B Rob Refsnyder are not in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Jered Weaver Wednesday, June 8. 1B Chris Parmelee will start at first base and is batting eighth, while INF Ronald Torreyes will start at third base and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Parmelee has not receive any at-bats since joining the team, so owners should avoid him for the time being. Torreyes is hitting .269 in limited playing time this season but is not a great fantasy option.

Yankees | Brian McCann, Brett Gardner starting

Sun, 29 May 2016 08:07:30 -0700

New York Yankees C Brian McCann and OF Brett Gardner are back in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi Sunday, May 29, while 3B Chase Headley and OF Carlos Beltran (shoulder) are receiving the day off. OF Aaron Hicks will play right field and bat seventh, while INF Ronald Torreyes will play third base and bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Hicks is just 7-for-45 (.156) away from Yankee Stadium this season but Torreyes could be worth taking a flier on in daily contests because of his .407 mark (11-for-27) on the road.
