San Diego Padres INF Jace Peterson is starting at third base and hitting eighth in the lineup Friday, Aug. 15. 3B Yangervis Solarte (oblique) remains out of the lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Peterson can fill in at the hot corner with Solarte banged up. Peterson is strictly an NL-only option, even if Solarte winds up on the disabled list.

San Diego Padres 3B Yangervis Solarte (oblique) is not in the starting lineup Thursday, Aug. 14. INF Chris Nelson is starting at the hot corner.
Fantasy Tip: Solarte needs to be removed from any of your daily starting lineups. He suffered a mild oblique injury Wednesday, and he should be considered day-to-day for now. However, oblique injuries usually land players on the DL, so prepare for a lengthy absence.

San Diego Padres 2B Yangervis Solarte is batting leadoff Tuesday, Aug. 12, against the Colorado Rockies. OF Rymer Liriano is hitting fifth, after batting seventh in his major league debut Monday, Aug. 11.
Fantasy Tip: Solarte is a viable option in the majority of leagues. He is eligible at a number of positions and hitting well since joining the Padres. Liriano should be owned in NL-only leagues, and he is worth a flier in deep mixed leagues, especially if you're looking for stolen bases.

San Diego Padres 2B Yangervis Solarte made his first start in left field Friday, Aug. 1, against the Atlanta Braves, while OF Abraham Almonte made his team debut in center field while batting in the eighth position of manager Bud Black's lineup.
Fantasy Tip: Solarte can be valuable in NL-only fantasy leagues for his versatility from an eligibility perspective, and Almonte will be worth a $1 waiver claim in all NL formats, especially if he gets semi-regular at-bats.

San Diego Padres INF Yangervis Solarte is batting second and playing second base Thursday, July 24, against the Chicago Cubs.
Fantasy Tip: Solarte could take care of the keystone position until Jedd Gyorko returns from his foot injury, and then move to third base. He could also fill a utility role around the diamond and in the outfield. Regardless, Solarte will get enough playing time to be a factor in NL-only formats. Mixed leaguers should take a wait-and-see approach.

The New York Yankees acquired 3B Chase Headley from the San Diego Padres in exchange for INF Yangervis Solarte and SP Rafael De Paula. San Diego also will send $1 million to New York.
Fantasy Tip: This is a big move for Headley, who becomes a top crossover FAAB candidate for AL-only players. He's rebounded a bit of late, and moving to the Bronx, a hitter's haven, should bode well for the rest of his second half. Solarte can be added in NL-only games but doesn't hold much upside, especially at PETCO Park. De Paula is a prospect to watch in the coming years but not necessarily stashable outside of full-team dynasty formats.
