Toronto Blue Jays 2B Ryan Goins is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 22. 2B Munenori Kawasaki is starting at the keystone and batting ninth against Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Andriese Monday.
Fantasy Tip: Over his last 10 games, Goins ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has eight runs, a home run, 10 RBI and a .294/.368/.471 slash line. That should be viewed as his ceiling, though, and not as a sign of things to come. He should be viewed as an AL-only and cavernous mixed league option in seasonal leagues and a low-priced flier for daily contests. Kawasaki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) should be viewed as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief by FantasyScore players Monday, as he has a career .603 OPS.

Toronto Blue Jays SP R.A. Dickey was placed on the bereavement list Friday, June 19. The team also recalled 2B Munenori Kawasaki from Class AAA Buffalo. Dickey will miss at least three days and could miss as many as seven days. It is not known if he will make his next scheduled start Tuesday, June 23.
Fantasy Tip: Dickey ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) had a death in his family, so it is not known how long he will be away from the team. Owners should monitor the situation to see if he will be able to make his next scheduled start. Dickey has pitched better this month and could be a cheaper pitching option on FantasyScore.

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Munenori Kawasaki is starting at second base and hitting seventh in the batting order against Washington Nationals SP Max Scherzer in Game 2 of the doubleheader Tuesday, June 2. 2B Ryan Goins will start on the bench.
Fantasy Tip: Kawasaki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is about as weak as an offensive weapon as you could choose from on FantasyScore. Avoid him at all costs.

Toronto Blue Jays 2B Steven Tolleson (groin) was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday, May 31. SS Munenori Kawasaki was recalled from Class AAA Buffalo in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Tolleson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) will be out at least until the middle of June if not a bit longer, so take him off your roster. Kawasaki ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) carries little fantasy value at this point.

Toronto Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ribs) was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Monday, May 25. In a corresponding move, SS Munenori Kawasaki was sent to Class AAA Buffalo.
Fantasy Tip: Reyes ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should be left out of the lineup for a bit as he gets used to pitching, but otherwise he will be good to go sometime this week barring injury.

Toronto Blue Jays SS Munenori Kawasaki is in the lineup Friday, May 22, against the Seattle Mariners.
Fantasy Tip: Steve Tolleson ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) should be the regular starter with Devon Travis out due to a wrist injury, but it appears Tolleson is getting a night off. This is the season debut for Kawasaki, so hold off on starting him until you get a decent sample size.

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed 3B Brett Lawrie (oblique) on the 15-day disabled list because of an oblique strain. The team also recalled RP Rob Rasmussen from Triple-A Buffalo.
Fantasy Tip: Lawrie goes right back on the disabled list and could miss the rest of the month of August. Munenori Kawasaki and Danny Valencia could receive time at the position, but Juan Francisco could become the regular starter when Adam Lind returns to the lineup. Kawasaki and Valencia probably are short-term options in AL-only leagues while Francisco could help in some mixed leagues.
