|Marlins | Wei-Yin Chen strikes out a dozen|
Wed, 11 May 2016 20:06:43 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chen picked up his first win at Marlins Park. He is also 2-0 against the Brewers this season, and he probably wishes he chose a team in the National League Central so he could face them more.

|Marlins | Wei-Yin Chen ready to go|
Mon, 11 Apr 2016 23:04:03 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) is set to start the series opener against the Atlanta Braves Friday, April 15. He was hit on the left elbow by a line drive in the season opener Tuesday, April 5. Chen threw a bullpen session Sunday, April 10.
Fantasy Tip: Chen apparently had no setbacks in his bullpen session, and he'll be facing a weak and winless Atlanta team. He remains a must-start fantasy option.

|Marlins | Wei-Yin Chen in line for next start|
Wed, 06 Apr 2016 14:17:19 -0700
Miami Marlins SP Wei-Yin Chen (elbow) said he is dealing with "normal soreness" following his start Tuesday, April 5, and he is still on track to make his next start against the New York Mets Monday, April 11. Chen was hit on the elbow by a line drive Tuesday. "I didn't hear anything medically with him," manager Don Mattingly said Wednesday, April 6. "I've seen him in the weight room, moving around. It sounds like we kind of survived that. Obviously, the next day or so, anything can happen. It can get sore or get swelling or whatever. But usually they are pretty good staying on top of that. So right now, we feel like we've dodged a little bit of a bullet."
Fantasy Tip: Chen should hold more fantasy value pitching in the National League, and especially the NL East. Look for the 30-year-old hurler to improve slightly on his 3.44 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 6.9 K/9 over the past two seasons, which makes him a viable No. 4 or 5 starter for your fantasy rotation. However, you'll likely still want to be selective with who you start him against in most formats. Stay tuned for updates on his status leading into his start Monday.

|Marlins | Wei-Yin Chen yields five runs in debut|
Tue, 05 Apr 2016 22:32:19 -0700
Fantasy Tip: In his defense, Chen was drilled by a line drive in his pitching arm in the second inning, which ended up being his worst before settling in, but it should also be noted his velocity was down a bit from that point on. As a result, Chen didn't really get a chance to be at his best in his team debut, so look for him to improve his next time out.

|Marlins | Wei-Yin Chen to start season opener|
Sun, 20 Mar 2016 09:52:00 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Chen will get the starting nod, instead of SP Jose Fernandez, as the club looks to limit Fernandez's innings during the 2016 season. Chen went 11-8 with a 3.79 ERA in 31 starts for the Orioles last year and should be viewed as a SP3 in mixed fantasy leagues with some upside.

|Marlins | Jarred Cosart not guaranteed a spot|
Tue, 23 Feb 2016 22:12:34 -0800
Miami Marlins SP Jarred Cosart isn't guaranteed of a rotation spot, and the team has even indicated a willingness to send him to the minors if he doesn't win a starting job. If he does win a job, he would be slotted behind SPs Jose Fernandez, Wei-Yin Chen and Tom Koehler.
Fantasy Tip: Cosart has had a tale of two seasons over the past two campaigns, winning 13 games with a 3.69 ERA in 30 starts between Houston and Miami in 2014, and 2-5 with a 4.52 ERA in 13 starts in 2015. However, he did deal with a bout of vertigo which threw him off last season. If he is over that situation he could rebound nicely and be quite the fantasy sleeper in NL-only formats and deeper mixed leagues.

|Marlins | Wei-Yin Chen the No. 2 starter|
Tue, 12 Jan 2016 10:26:42 -0800
Miami Marlins SP Wei-Yin Chen is expected to be the team's No. 2 starting pitcher behind SP Jose Fernandez. Chen went 46-32 with a 3.72 ERA in 117 career starts in four years with the Baltimore Orioles.
Fantasy Tip: Chen is an underrated fantasy player, and the move to the National League and a pitcher's park should do wonders for him. He's not a strikeout pitcher, but he's good at keeping the ball on the ground, and if he continues to do that, he could be a bargain as you round out your fake pitching staff depth in the later rounds.

|Marlins | Miami could pursue Wei-Yin Chen|
Sun, 10 Jan 2016 07:17:05 -0800
Fantasy Tip: Chen's fantasy value would be boosted by a move from the hitter-friendly AL East to the offensively-challenged NL East. The 30-year-old left-hander went 11-8 with a 3.34 ERA in 31 starts for Baltimore last season, with 153 strikeouts in 191 1/3 innings. Chen should be viewed as a SP3 in mixed fantasy leagues.
