Brewers | Scooter Gennett stuffs the stat line

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 05:31:33 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBI during Milwaukee's 12-9 loss to the Cincinnati Reds Saturday, Aug. 29.

Fantasy Tip: By no means has it been a banner season for Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap), but he does own a respectable .296/.327/.463 slash line over 63 games since he was recalled from his stint in the minors. Gennett stands as a low-end middle infield option in deep mixed leagues, and he is a worthy budget play at FantasyScore when the Brewers draw a plus-matchup.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett hitting leadoff

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 11:46:05 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is hitting leadoff against Cleveland Indians SP Cody Anderson Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson is making his first start since coming off the DL, so right away that makes Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) a little more intriguing as a sleeper pick in daily games. He's also hitting much better against righties this year and has all six of his homers against them. Hitting leadoff also raises Gennett's fantasy value for tonight.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett playing second base

Sat, 22 Aug 2015 11:40:26 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett will bat sixth against Washington Nationals SP Joe Ross Saturday, Aug. 22. INF Elian Herrera, who played second base Friday, Aug. 21, will start at third base Saturday.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting .294 this month and is 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles against Ross in his career, so FantasyScore owners who need an inexpensive option at the keystone position should consider him for their lineups. Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) also merits consideration, since he is batting .293 with one home run and eight RBIs in 58 at-bats this month.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett sitting against lefty

Fri, 21 Aug 2015 13:23:52 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the lineup against Washington Nationals left-handed SP Gio Gonzalez Friday, Aug. 21. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at second base and hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap), a switch-hitter, is much better from the left side against right-handers this year. He doesn't deserve your attention tonight.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett hitting second

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 09:18:48 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is hitting second against Miami Marlins SP Tom Koehler Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) will likely be overlooked by most in daily games, but he does have all five of his home runs and a .277 average (62-for-224) against right-handers this year. He's also hitting much better at hitter-friendly Miller Park this year. He should at least be considered as a sleeper play with a favorable lineup spot today.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out of lineup Tuesday

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 11:59:18 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the lineup Tuesday, Aug. 18, against the Miami Marlins. 2B Elian Herrera is batting seventh against Marlins SP Adam Conley.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting .438 in the last week but it's a no-brainer to sit him with an .077 average against lefties. Anytime Gennett faces a left-handed pitcher, avoid him in FantasyScore if he is in the lineup.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett sitting vs. Miami

Mon, 17 Aug 2015 12:18:14 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Monday, Aug. 17. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at second base and batting seventh against Miami Marlins SP Justin Nicolino Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) in all formats Monday. Since returning from the minors Thursday, June 11, he has a respectable .290/.323/.454 slash line and is worth owning in deep mixed leagues. Three of Herrera's ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) five home runs have come against lefties, and in just 43 plate appearances. Still, he is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief at FantasyScore.

Brewers | Career night for Scooter Gennett

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 19:54:57 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett had a career-high four and added two RBI and a run scored in a 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Saturday, Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is having a down year overall, and he has been atrocious against lefties. He is a shot-on-in-the dark play at FantasyScore.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett playing second base

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 11:44:40 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett will bat sixth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Jerome Williams Saturday, Aug. 15.

Fantasy Tip: With a right-handed starter on the mound, Gennett ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is back in the lineup for the first time since Wednesday, Aug. 12. He is 2-for-3 with a double in his career against Williams and is batting .260 versus righties this season.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out again vs. lefty

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 14:33:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the lineup against Philadelphia Phillies left-handed SP Adam Morgan Friday, Aug. 14. 2B Elian Herrera is starting at the keystone and hitting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Herrera ($2,400, 4.8% of cap) doesn't move the needle at all in any fantasy format, but a matchup against Morgan and the Phils could make him a candidate for daily lineups as a deep sleeper and salary cap reliever.
