Minnesota Twins SP Kyle Gibson, who threw a shutout with Triple-A Rochester Wednesday, May 8, will not take the place of SP Pedro Hernandez in the rotation, according to general manager Terry Ryan.

Fantasy Tip: Gibson is the team's top pitching prospect, but his workload will be limited this year after recovering from Tommy John surgery. He's not a lock to come up later in the year for these reasons, but he'll be an option for fantasy owners next year.

The Minnesota Twins will place SP Cole De Vries (forearm) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right forearm. The move will be retroactive to last Saturday, March 30. SP Pedro Hernandez will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester to take De Vries' scheduled start Sunday, April 7. De Vries still had tightness in his arm during a bullpen session Friday, April 5.

Minnesota Twins SP Pedro Hernandez will start Sunday, April 7, in place of SP Cole De Vries (forearm).

Fantasy Tip: Hernandez should only be a last-ditch option in the deepest of AL leagues and probably should be left to the waiver wire for now. There isn't any indication yet that De Vries will need to go on the DL.

Chicago White Sox P Pedro Hernandez was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte Wednesday, July 18, after his rough outing against the Boston Red Sox. He allowed eight runs and 12 hits in just four innings in a loss in his major league debut.

Chicago White Sox SP Dylan Axelrod has been temporarily moved to the bullpen, although he is an option to start Monday, July 23, against the Minnesota Twins. P Pedro Hernandez was also considered an option, but he was sent to Triple-A Charlotte after his start Wednesday, July 18.
