Twins | Oswaldo Arcia hits in cage

Fri, 15 May 2015 14:04:10 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia (hip) took batting practice for the first time Friday, May 15, since he suffered a right hip flexor strain Sunday, May 3. He said he feels fine swinging but still feels a little pain when throwing. Arcia also noted he does not think he will need a rehab assignment.

Fantasy Tip: The Minnesota brass may disagree, however, it is nothing but a positive that Arcia ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is nearing a return. Over his career, the 24-year-old outfielder has averaged 27 home runs per 162 games, so there is huge power potential when he is healthy. Still, FantasyScore players should give him a few games to settle in at the plate before utilizing him in contests.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia not swinging

Tue, 12 May 2015 15:16:37 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia (hip) has yet to resume swinging a bat in his rehab.

Fantasy Tip: Arcia still has a ways to go in his rehab before being healthy enough to return to the active roster. Eduardo Escobar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) and Eddie Rosario ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) will continue to see more playing time until Arcia returns. Rosario has more upside at FantasyScore, but he, too, is merely a shot in the dark in daily games.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia hopes to be back soon

Mon, 04 May 2015 14:30:14 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia (hip) thinks he can be back to full health in seven to days. An MRI exam showed a right hip flexor strain.

Fantasy Tip: Arcia ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) should be stashed in a DL slot in deep mixed and AL-only leagues. In the shallowest of mixed leagues, he can probably be moved to the waiver wire if you don't have the roster space. Eduardo Escobar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) could see the majority of starts in left field in his place, but he's merely a low-end outfield flier at FantasyScore.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia to the DL

Mon, 04 May 2015 13:27:55 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia (hip) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip flexor strain Monday, May 4. The Twins recalled OF Eddie Rosario up from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario was hitting only .242 at Rochester, and he's likely to serve as a bench player for Minnesota. In Arcia's absence, Eduardo Escobar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) and Shane Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) could split playing time in the outfield. Neither player is more than a low-end flier at FantasyScore, and they aren't worth considering outside of deep AL-only leagues.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia injures hip

Sun, 03 May 2015 19:03:05 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia (hip) left in the fifth inning against the Chicago White Sox Sunday, May 3, with right hip irritation. He was 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI before exiting.

Fantasy Tip: Arcia ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) should be considered day-to-day for now, but even when he is in the lineup, doesn't offer much in the way of upside at FantasyScore.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia out again

Fri, 01 May 2015 14:23:56 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia is out of the starting lineup against a left-hander Friday, May 1. OF Shane Robinson is starting in center field and hitting eighth in the batting order against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) had two hits last night and is hitting .342 (13-for-38) in limited duty as a backup outfield for the Twins. However, Robinson has very little offensive upside for those looking for a cheap outfield candidate at FantasyScore.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia to sit against lefties

Thu, 16 Apr 2015 08:50:13 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia will likely sit out against left-handed pitchers, according to manager Paul Molitor. "I'd like to see his at bats pick up in terms of consistency," Molitor said. "The best chance to do that right now is against right-handers."

Fantasy Tip: Arcia ($2,900, 5.8% of your cap) has had a slow start, but he could be a low-end outfielder worth using on FantasyScore as the season progresses.
