Twins | Oswaldo Arcia, Kurt Suzuki out

Sat, 30 Apr 2016 08:28:45 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia and C Kurt Suzuki are not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers SP Jordan Zimmermann Saturday, April 30. OF Eddie Rosario will start in left field and is batting eighth, while C J.R. Murphy will start at catcher and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario is hitting .105 over the last seven days and should be avoided in all fantasy leagues. Murphy is also struggling at the plate and should not be used in any leagues.

Twins | Miguel Sano at 3B again

Wed, 27 Apr 2016 14:50:16 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B/OF Miguel Sano is starting at third base for the second straight day against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin Wednesday, April 27. That allows OF Oswaldo Arcia to start in right field. He's hitting sixth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: With Trevor Plouffe on the DL, Sano could accumulate enough starts at the hot corner to become eligible at third base, in addition to the outfield. That's significant, and it would give Sano owners more flexibility with their lineups. The second year slugger has 30-homer power but swings and misses often and won't do your batting average any favors.

Twins | Eduardo Nunez, Byron Buxton playing

Sun, 24 Apr 2016 08:36:26 -0700

Minnesota Twins 3B Eduardo Nunez and OF Byron Buxton are back in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Stephen Strasburg Sunday, April 24, batting first and eight, respectively. 3B/OF Miguel Sano will move back to right field after playing the hot corner Saturday and OF Oswaldo Arcia will get the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Nunez is batting .405 with seven RBI through his first 37 at-bats this year, including a .455 mark versus right-handed pitching, making him a solid value play in daily fantasy games. On the other hand, Buxton is just 6-for-40 at the plate and should be avoided today.

Minnesota Twins 3B Eduardo Nunez, OF Oswaldo Arcia and C Kurt Suzuki are out of the lineup Thursday, April 21. 3B Jorge Polanco is leading off, OF Eddie Rosario is hitting fifth and C J.R. Murphy hits seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario has homered in consecutive games and is the only one of the trio worth a low-end start against Taylor Jungmann.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia showing more professionalism

Wed, 20 Apr 2016 17:57:37 -0700

Minnesota Twins manager Paul Molitor said OF Oswaldo Arcia has made a concerted effort to be more professional this season in all aspects, ranging from his diet and workout regimen to how he carries himself. He has also shown more patience and confidence at the plate, as evidenced by a recent three-game stretch where he collected seven hits.

Fantasy Tip: Entering play Wednesday, Arcia was 7-for-24 with a home run and three RBI through seven games and his recent hot streak has made it difficult for Molitor to find at-bats for OF Max Kepler. Arcia is worth considering as an inexpensive flier in daily fantasy contests.

Twins | Eddie Rosario sits again

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 09:12:08 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is out of the starting lineup for the second straight day Tuesday, April 19. OF Oswaldo Arcia is starting in left field and is batting fifth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Wily Peralta.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario is off to a slow start (6-for-41, .146 with 13 strikeouts) and has lost playing time to Arcia recently. This could develop into a platoon situation with Arcia facing right-handers. Peralta has looked very hittable to begin the year, so Arcia could make for a successful cheap flyer in daily contests Tuesday.
