Brewers | Jean Segura out Wednesday

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 11:33:40 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers SS Jean Segura is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 1. 2B Hernan Perez is starting at shortstop and hitting seventh against Philadelphia Phillies SP Aaron Harang.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has made quite an impression for the Brewers early on (.360-0-2) in just 50 at-bats, but he doesn't have much power to speak of. A matchup against the struggling Harang is nice, but a lineup placement down in the order limits Perez's already dim upside.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out Tuesday

Tue, 30 Jun 2015 11:36:48 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 30. 2B Hernan Perez is starting at the keystone and hitting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has hit well in his brief time with the Brew Crew (.348 in 46 at-bats), but he doesn't have much power to speak of and should be avoided in daily games going up against Hamels.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez sitting out vs. Phillies

Mon, 29 Jun 2015 12:29:59 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Monday, June 29. 2B Hernan Perez is starting at third base and batting eighth against Philadelphia Phillies SP Sean O'Sullivan Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Ramirez ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) in all formats Monday. The veteran is beginning to show the signs of his age and owns a .214/.253/.405 slash line this season. He is nothing more than a deep mixed option and FantasyScore flier. Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should be viewed as a desperation source of cap relief for daily contests Monday.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez has day off

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 08:28:31 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez is out of the lineup Thursday, June 25, with 3B Hernan Perez filling in.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .381 the last week, but he matches up against Jacob deGrom. He's a roll of the dice, but he'll allow you to load up elsewhere on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett out Tuesday

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 16:28:33 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is out of the starting lineup Tuesday, June 23, against the New York Mets and LHP Jon Niese. 2B Hernan Perez will start at second base and hit eighth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) got off to a horrible start to the season, but he is 7-for-16 in his last four games. At the minimum price, Perez is a sneaky GPP play on FantasyScore.

Brewers | Hernan Perez playing second base

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 12:08:38 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers INF Hernan Perez is starting at second base against the Colorado Rockies Sunday, June 21, batting seventh. 2B Scooter Gennett is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .159 overall this season but hitting at a .267 clip since being acquired from the Detroit Tigers. That being said, better options can be found in FantasyScore.

Brewers | Aramis Ramirez out of lineup

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 10:23:00 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aramis Ramirez is not in the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Saturday, June 20. INF Hernan Perez is playing the hot corner and batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Thanks to a 3-for-5 performance Friday, June 19, Ramirez ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is batting .353 against Colorado this season and .208 against everyone else. Despite this, Ramirez will be replaced in the lineup Saturday by Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap), who is only batting .150 and is not a great FantasyScore option.

Brewers | Scooter Gennett sitting vs. Colorado

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 13:27:35 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Scooter Gennett is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 19. 2B Hernan Perez is starting at the keystone and batting eighth against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Over the eight games since he was recalled from the minors, Gennett ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is batting .310 with a .920 OPS. He is starting to flash the hitting skills that made him a popular deep sleeper this offseason. Owners in deep mixed leagues could be rewarded with solid production from Gennett going forward. Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief for FantasyScore contests until he proves otherwise.

Tigers | Hernan Perez draws into lineup

Fri, 29 May 2015 16:06:26 -0700

Detroit Tigers 2B Hernan Perez is starting at third base and hitting eighth in the batting order against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago Friday, May 29. 3B Nick Castellanos is serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has only two hits in 30 at-bats in 2015, and he should be avoided for FantasyScore lineups.

Tigers | Ian Kinsler resting Tuesday

Tue, 26 May 2015 16:10:36 -0700

Detroit Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler will rest Tuesday, May 26, against the Oakland Athletics. 2B Hernan Perez will start at second in his place and bat ninth in the order. OF Rajai Davis will serve as the designated hitter and move into the two-spot in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Perez ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has just two hits in 27 plate appearances this year, and he shouldn't garner any consideration on FantasyScore. Davis ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has 11 stolen bases on the season, and he can be considered for play in GPP tournaments despite his low .262 average against right-handed pitchers.
