"I have the speed and the athletic ability to play on the outside, but it's definitely a different feeling out there than in the middle. It's actually kind of fun. Updating a previous report, Pat Yasinskas, of ESPN.com, reports New Orleans Saints LB Dan Morgan said he has filed his reinstatement papers with the NFL and plans to rejoin the Saints. Morgan has talked to the team and said they seem interested of having him play.

Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints LB Dan Morgan has informed the Saints that he will return to football after a one-year retirement, according to general manager Mickey Loomis. The Saints will maintain his rights if he is reinstated, but it is not known if the team will keep him on their roster or allow him to play elsewhere.

"Those things are a lot bigger than my football career will ever be," Morgan said. "That's the most important thing in my life, and I just had to make sure my health is there and I'm there for my family. That's what it came down to."

A team source said Morgan passed a team physical before he was signed, but the toll of how hard he played while with the Carolina Panthers caught up with him.
