Wed, 27 Apr 2016 19:47:34 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana (3-1) allowed four hits and three walks over six scoreless innings in a victory over the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday, April 27, with a season-high 10 strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Quintana has thrown a quality start in all five of his outings this season and has tossed 13 scoreless innings over his last two starts. He is scheduled to make his next start against the Boston Red Sox Tuesday, May 3, and is worth considering for daily fantasy games.

Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana lost his start Sunday, April 17, against the Tampa Bay Rays. He gave up three runs on seven hits with six strikeouts in a 3-2 loss.

Fantasy Tip: Quintana remains a decent fantasy option. This was his first loss in five starts dating back to the end of 2014, so he hasn't been hit too hard over the recent stretch.

White Sox | Jose Quintana picks up victory

Mon, 11 Apr 2016 21:52:49 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana allowed just one earned run, four hits and three walks with five strikeouts over six innings in a win Monday, April 11, against the Minnesota Twins. He threw 60 of his 100 pitches for strikes.

Fantasy Tip: Quintana leads the majors with 53 no-decisions since the start of the 2012 season, but his offense did enough to help him out in this one. He remains a solid fantasy option, especially when the matchup is favorable such as it when facing teams like the Twins.

White Sox | Jose Quintana comes away with win

Mon, 11 Apr 2016 16:37:57 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana allowed four hits and a run while walking three and striking out five in six innings to beat the winless Minnesota Twins Monday, April 11. Quintana lowered his ERA on the year to 2.31.

Fantasy Tip: Quintana is off to a nice start this year. He doesn't get many swings and misses, but he pounds the zone and is often effective as an undervalued fantasy pitcher. Start him with confidence later this week against the Tampa Bay Rays on the road.

White Sox | Jose Quintana records solid outing

Tue, 05 Apr 2016 23:22:57 -0700

Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana had a good season debut Tuesday, April 5, versus the Oakland Athletics. He lasted 5 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits, while walking none and striking out seven.

Fantasy Tip: He just missed out on a quality start, and although he was gipped out of a win when the Chicago bullpen coughed up a two-run lead in the bottom of the eighth, owners will take this performance every single time from the durable left-hander. Quintana has mostly been very steady since coming up a handful of years ago and the same should remain true in 2016.

White Sox | Pale Hose announce starting rotation

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 13:18:37 -0700

Chicago White Sox SPs Chris Sale, Jose Quintana, Carlos Rodon, Mat Latos and John Danks will comprise the starting rotation to begin the season, the team announced Tuesday, March 29.

Fantasy Tip: Sale is a fantasy ace to target in the early rounds of drafts, while Quintana and Rodon are upside candidates worth middle-round selections. Latos could have a degree of bounce-back appeal, but like Danks, the fourth and fifth Chicago starters should be left to cavernous mixed and AL-only formats.

Royals | Mike Moustakas sidelined for fifth day

Sat, 05 Sep 2015 15:15:28 -0700

Kansas City Royals 3B Mike Moustakas (hamstring) is sidelined for the fifth day in a row Saturday, Sept. 5, due to hamstring issues. 3B Cheslor Cuthbert is again in the lineup, and he is hitting sixth against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana.

Fantasy Tip: Moustakas ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) has felt better, but the lefty vs. lefty matchup allows the Royals another chance to sit Moustakas. Cuthbert ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) can be used as low-cost help in your lineup.
