White Sox | ChiSox in buy mode

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 13:20:40 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Yoenis Cespedes is being checked on by the Chicago White Sox, as they are aggressively searching for another hitter.

Fantasy Tip: While Comerica Park has been a fine hitter's venue for Cespedes ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) and the Tigers, a move to the White Sox wouldn't drastically change his fantasy outlook. Cespedes (.289-17-58) is having a fine season and should continue to be a strong player for his owners regardless of whether he stays in Detroit.

Leaving a strong Detroit lineup will likely hurt his fantasy stock, though.

Tigers | David Price, Yoenis Cespedes available

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 12:25:49 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price and OF Yoenis Cespedes are players the Tigers are now willing to listen to trade offers for leading up to the trade deadline.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) likely will be an attractive option for several contending teams and could be moved before the deadline if the Tigers receive a good return. Price should be a great pitcher no matter who he plays for and could be an option on FantasyScore whenever he pitches. Cespedes ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) could also be a popular trade option for teams and probably will be a solid option on FantasyScore since he should remain a starter if he is traded.

Tigers | Yeonis Cespedes batting second

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 13:22:55 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Yoenis Cespedes is batting second against Toronto Blue Jays SP Drew Hutchison Friday, July 3.

Fantasy Tip: Hutchison has a 8.92 ERA and a 5.66 FIP on the road this season, so Cespedes ($5,500, 11.0% of cap) has a plus-matchup in that regard. Cespedes is slumping, though. Over his past eight games, he is 5-for-35 with just three runs, four RBI and a .371 OPS. At his cap hit, FantasyScore players should view Cespedes as a high-risk, high-reward start in contests.

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 15:06:39 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Yoenis Cespedes (flu) is back in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana Friday, June 5.

Fantasy Tip: Cespedes ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has really struggled against lefties in 2015, going just 6-for-40 (.150) with three home runs and 12 RBI. However, throw that out the window Friday on FantasyScore. In his career against Quintana, he's 6-for-9 with four home runs and nine RBI. It's a small sample size, but you can't ignore it.
