The Arizona Diamondbacks reassigned Ps Eric Smith, Chase Anderson, Charles Brewer, Eury De La Rosa, Zeke Spruill, Josh Booty, David Holmberg, Garrett Mock and Bo Schultz, OFs Alfredo Marte and Keon Broxton, SSs Nick Ahmed and Chris Owings, 3B Matt Davidson and C Edward Easley to minor league camp Thursday, March 14.

The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned SP Trevor Bauer to Double-A Mobile and optioned Ps Sam Demel and Barry Enright and OF David Winfree to Triple-A Reno. Ps Chris Jakubauskas and Charles Brewer and INFs Rusty Ryal and Matt Davidson were also re-assigned.

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Charles Brewer has thrown well in camp, allowing just one run and three walks with seven strikeouts over five innings. Brewer is likely to start the season with Double-A Mobile, but he might move up quickly if he keeps pitching well.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have nine non-roster invitee pitchers headed to camp this spring. Ps Charles Brewer, Patrick Corbin, Mike DeMark, Chris Jakubauskas, Jason Lane, Jensen Lewis, Evan Marshall, Kevin Munson and Tyler Skaggs will each compete for a roster spot at spring training. Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 20, with their first full workout Feb. 21.

Arizona Diamondbacks P Charles Brewer (hand, concussion) got off to a slow start in his first three starts in the Arizona Fall League, but he allowed just one run over 4 1/3 innings in his latest outing Friday, Oct. 21. He missed most of the minor league season due to a broken hand and concussion.
