Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said OF Adam Eaton (elbow) will probably be receiving a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews over the next few days.
Fantasy Tip: Eaton's MRI didn't show structural damage, so this could be one of those cases when Andrews doesn't condemn a player's season. Still, it's a reason to remain cautious when expecting Eaton to make a dent for your SB potential this season.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF Adam Eaton (elbow) has no structural damage in his elbow, based on MRI results, the team announced. He'll strengthen around the area for two to three weeks and then begin a throwing program.
Fantasy Tip: The Snakes have apparently given no additional details about a timetable following the outfielder's recent setback, but it sounds like Eaton is unlikely to return before mid- to late June. They'll probably proceed a little more cautiously this time. A.J. Pollock's seemingly dwindling value just received a slight jolt, although he's still contending with Jason Kubel, Gerardo Parra and Cody Ross.

Arizona Diamondbacks OF Adam Eaton's (elbow) issue appears to be muscular and not ligament-related after he met with a doctor. Eaton will undergo an MRI exam to make sure.
Fantasy Tip: This is some good news after we found out about his setback, but he's not in the clear yet. If it's just a muscular issue, this should be a short-term setback for Eaton. A.J. Pollock's value will take a major hit when Eaton returns, and he'll likely only be worth owning in NL leagues.

Fantasy Tip: This is obviously discouraging. Hopefully it's only a short-term setback. Elbow sprains can take longer than hoped to heal, and setbacks aren't unusual. Expect an update after Eaton has visited the doc. A.J. Pollock's value is stayed by however long Eaton's recovery may be delayed. A.J. Arizona Diamondbacks OF Adam Eaton (elbow) started to throw Friday, April 19, and he has been hitting since April 4, serving as the designated hitter in extended spring games. Eaton will throw from 60 feet Monday, April 22, according to general manager Kevin Towers.
Fantasy Tip: Eaton is about a couple of weeks from returning to the majors. He will go on a minor-league rehab assignment when he is ready to throw, playing for Triple-A Reno and serving as the DH initially. When he is able to return, he'll find a crowded outfield. He is still a good NL-only fantasy option when healthy, but mixed leaguers won't want to bother with him, at least at first.
