Miami Marlins C Jeff Mathis (collarbone) was scheduled to catch nine innings with Triple-A New Orleans Sunday, May 12, and Monday, May 13, and he could return from the disabled list as early as Tuesday, May 14.

Fantasy Tip: Miguel Olivo and Rob Brantly have been splitting time behind the dish for the Fish. Mathis will be involved in a time share, at best, when he returns, so restrict him to NL-only leagues and two-catcher formats.

The Miami Marlins optioned P Scott Maine to Triple-A New Orleans, RP Arquimedes Caminero and 3B Zack Cox to Double-A Jacksonville. P Michael Brady, P Adam Conley, P Brian Flynn, P Raudel Lazo, INF Danny Black, INF Derek Dietrich and OF Kevin Mattison were reassigned to minor league camp.

Florida Marlins RP Michael Brady and OF Christian Yelich were named minor league pitcher and player of the year by the team. Brady went 7-1 with 18 saves, a 1.91 ERA and struck out 81 with only 10 walks in 61 1/3 innings at Class A Greensboro. Yelich hit .312 with 15 homers, 77 RBIs and 32 steals at Greensboro.
