Toronto Blue Jays RPs Casey Janssen, Sergio Santos, Darren Oliver and Steve Delabar are all locks for the bullpen, and RP Esmil Rogers, who is out of options, is likely to have the fifth spot locked up. RPs Jeremy Jeffress, Brett Cecil, Aaron Loup and J.A. Happ will battle for the final two spots.

Toronto Blue Jays RP Steve Delabar credits his recent success with a throwing program he began several years ago while working out at the Players' Academy in Elizabethtown, Ky. At the time, he was a high school assistant baseball coach who had given up on playing professionally after suffering a severe right elbow injury that required a metal plate and nine screws to heal. Delabar initially participated in the program so that he could teach other players but then noticed that his own velocity slowly increased from the mid-80s to the mid-90s. The workouts focus on arm acceleration and deceleration, using a variety of weighted balls to increase shoulder and arm strength while also increasing arm speed at the same time.

The Seattle Mariners have placed RP Charlie Furbush (triceps) on the 15-day disabled list with a strained triceps muscle. In a corresponding move, the team recalled RP Steve Delabar from Triple-A Tacoma.

The Seattle Mariners recalled SP Blake Beavan from Triple-A Tacoma and optioned RP Steve Delabar to Tacoma. Beavan will start Tuesday, July 17.

The Seattle Mariners activated OF Franklin Gutierrez (heel, pectoral) from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, June 13, and placed OF Mike Carp (shoulder) and RP Stephen Pryor (groin) on the disabled list. Carp has an inflamed right shoulder and Pryor is suffering from a strained left groin. Also, the M's also recalled OF Casper Wells and Ps Erasmo Ramirez and Steve Delabar from Triple-A Tacoma.
