Patriots | Chris Hogan still has injured wing

Wed, 22 Nov 2017 13:32:36 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 22, due to his shoulder injury.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan was in a sling two weeks ago and he did not suit up for last weekend's contest, so it's probably best to avoid him for fantasy purposes until he can officially return and prove his health in one full game without any setbacks.

Patriots | Chris Hogan to miss another game

Fri, 17 Nov 2017 11:31:59 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 11 versus the Oakland Raiders.

Fantasy Tip: It leaves Brandin Cooks and Rob Gronkowski as potential target hogs in a plus-matchup, although Philip Dorsett could also enjoy some degree of fantasy relevancy in deeper leagues this week as well.

Patriots | Chris Hogan sidelined Thursday

Thu, 16 Nov 2017 11:06:55 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) missed practice again Thursday, Nov. 16.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan is not expected to play this week. Rob Gronkowski and Brandin Cooks would be the main beneficiaries in that case, but Danny Amendola (if he plays) and the New England running backs should also be more involved in the passing game. Have a substitute ready for if/when Hogan is ruled out.

Patriots | Chris Hogan not with team

Wed, 15 Nov 2017 18:20:39 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is still in Massachusetts and is receiving treatment on his injured shoulder. The Patriots are practicing in Colorado this week.

Fantasy Tip: It appears that Hogan will miss at least one more game because of his shoulder, so owners in all leagues should avoid him. Danny Amendola and Martellus Bennett could see more targets in Week 11, but neither player is a strong fantasy option.

Patriots | Chris Hogan still sidelined

Wed, 15 Nov 2017 10:38:36 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan has been sidelined since suffering the injury in Week 8, so it's a good bet he'll miss at least Week 11 even if he was able to practice in some fashion before the end of this week. Brandin Cooks, Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett and the Patriots' trio of running backs figure to remain busy again versus the Oakland Raiders in Mexico City if Hogan sits as expected.

Patriots | Chris Hogan officially ruled out

Fri, 10 Nov 2017 14:05:49 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not practice Friday, Nov. 10, and he has officially been ruled out for Week 10 against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: With Hogan on the mend it will be Danny Amendola stepping up with a larger role this week. He should absorb most of the targets normally taken by Hogan. Treat Amendola as a decent WR3 in most fantasy formats, especially PPR leagues. Phillip Dorsett should also see a larger role and is a sleeper streaming option.

Patriots | Danny Amendola primed for bigger role?

Fri, 10 Nov 2017 09:09:45 -0800

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola should "receive the biggest boost in targets and receptions" while Chris Hogan (shoulder) sits out due to a shoulder injury, according to NESN's Doug Kyed.

Fantasy Tip: Amendola used the Week 9 bye to take care of a knee injury and has played about half the team's snaps in all but one game this season. While he is set up to take on a bigger role, the Denver Broncos in Week 10 present a very difficult matchup for him, and there is no guarantee Hogan won't return in Week 11 or shortly thereafter. Barring a complete lack of other good options on your roster, Amendola should remain on fantasy benches this weekend.

Patriots | Chris Hogan doesn't practice again

Thu, 09 Nov 2017 15:17:29 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: As already reported, Hogan's arm is still in a sling, which would seem to indicate that he has no chance of playing Sunday night in Denver. That means Danny Amendola (knee) is likely to have a more active role, though it's possible he could be inactive as well. If both wideouts don't play, Phillip Dorsett would be an intriguing sleeper option to potentially deploy.

Patriots | Chris Hogan still wearing sling for injury

Wed, 08 Nov 2017 19:27:16 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan's (shoulder) arm is still in a sling.

Fantasy Tip: This would seem to indicate that Hogan won't be ready for New England's Week 10 affair. As a result, this means more work for the likes of Rob Gronkowski, Brandin Cooks, Danny Amendola and James White is expected. Philip Dorsett will also see an increased role, too, and should have some sleeper appeal for deeper formats.

Patriots | Chris Hogan remains sidelined

Wed, 08 Nov 2017 10:11:10 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Fantasy Tip: It's beginning to look like Hogan will miss at least one game despite having the Week 9 bye to try to return from his shoulder injury. Given the secretive nature of the Patriots, there is no timetable for his return yet and all that is known right now is that he does not need surgery. Assuming Hogan sits, Philip Dorsett be in line for more snaps, although he'd be a poor play in fantasy versus the Denver Broncos, making Brandin Cooks the only New England receiver worth using this week.

Patriots | Chris Hogan a no-go Monday

Tue, 07 Nov 2017 10:17:45 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not participate in practice Monday, Nov. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Considering Hogan's arm was reportedly in a sling last week, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Still, for a player some insiders believe won't miss much time, this is not a great start to the week in regards to the likelihood he will be able to play in Week 10, especially considering he's coming off a bye week. Look for the Patriots to focus much of their passing game around Rob Gronkowski and their running backs against the Denver Broncos in Week 10.

Wed, 01 Nov 2017 16:10:04 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 1, and was seen with his right arm in a sling.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan will have the bye week to rest his shoulder, so owners should check on his practice participation next week. Hogan has had a solid role in the Patriots passing game and can be a No. 3 receiver when he is healthy.

Patriots | Chris Hogan avoids surgery

Tue, 31 Oct 2017 07:20:39 -0700

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) will avoid surgery, according to a source. New England will reevaluate Hogan after the Week 9 bye.

Fantasy Tip: This is encouraging news for Hogan owners, and those who start Tom Brady. Stay tuned for more information over the next 10 days, but considering the Patriots' history with injuries, we may not hear more before a gameday inactive listing in Week 10.

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, Oct. 30, for the injury he suffered in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers, a source said.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan was hit on the upper right arm and had the arm in a sling after the victory. However, reports indicate that initial optimism is that the injury isn't bad, but tests will work to confirm those hopes.

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury during the team's Week 8 game.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see how long Hogan may be sidelined because of the injury. Hogan has been a solid receiver for the Patriots this season, but fantasy owners may need other options available in case Hogan is sidelined for an extended period of time.

Mon, 23 Oct 2017 05:00:26 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan caught four of his six targeted passes for 71 yards in a Week 7 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan had been hampered in practice by rib issues, but now that he's back to pretty much full speed you can look at Hogan as a No. 3 receiver moving forward.

Patriots | Chris Hogan limited in practice

Thu, 19 Oct 2017 14:28:50 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (ribs) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan is coming off what was easily the worst game of his season so far. He has been a touchdown machine, though, and the forecast calls for plenty of touchdowns Sunday night versus the Atlanta Falcons. Assuming Hogan is good to go, he's a solid WR2 play in a potential scorcher.

Patriots | Limited practice for Chris Hogan

Wed, 18 Oct 2017 14:31:33 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (ribs) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan is coming off his worst outing of the season and dealing with a rib injury on top of it. There's still plenty of time between now and Sunday night, though, and he and the Patriots are due for a high-scoring affair with the Atlanta Falcons. Assuming Hogan's health isn't an issue, he'll be in low-end WR1 to high-end WR2 territory.

Patriots | Chris Hogan held to one catch

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 13:54:18 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan caught one pass for 19 yards against the New York Jets in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan saw his four-game touchdown streak snapped this week and was not a big factor in the game. He probably will see more targets next week against the Atlanta Falcons and can be a No. 3 fantasy receiver.

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 21:56:57 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan was targeted 11 times against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 5, catching eight balls for 74 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Make it four weeks in a row for Hogan with a TD (and five in four games) as the wideout has emerged as Tom Brady's most reliable target since a quiet Week 1 and a favorite in the red zone. Keep Hogan in your lineup going forward as a solid WR2/WR3.

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan caught four passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans in Week 3.

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (knee) is expected to play in Week 3's game against the Houston Texans.

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 18:55:15 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan posted five receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown on six targets in Week 2 at New Orleans.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan certainly made up for his egg laying in Week 1, but a lot of fantasy owners probably went away from him after he managed just eight yards in the opener. The Patriots host the Texans in Week 3.

Fri, 25 Aug 2017 18:45:13 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan finished with four catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns against the Detroit Lions in the preseason Friday, Aug. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan was a boom-or-bust option last year, but if Julian Edelman's knee injury turns out to be serious, it would boost his stock. He is in the WR4 range for now.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan may miss a day or two of practice, but his injury does not appear to be serious. He is coming off a successful 2016 season where he posted 680 yards and four touchdowns. He should have a solid role in the passing game this season and could be a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver for fantasy owners.

Fri, 16 Jun 2017 07:16:04 -0700

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan has been lining up with WR Brandin Cooks and WR Julian Edelman in three-wide receiver sets.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan had a modest 38-680-4 line on the season, but he had some big performances in spots. Hogan isn't someone to lean on consistently, but he can be a matchup beast as a WR5.

Fri, 03 Feb 2017 13:26:56 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (thigh) was limited during practice Friday, Feb. 3, and is listed as questionable for Super Bowl LI.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan should be in uniform despite the injury and likely will have a solid role in the passing game against the Atlanta Falcons. He should be a top three receiver for the Patriots in 2017 and can be a No. 3 or No. 4 receiver for fantasy owners.

Patriots | Another limited practice for Chris Hogan

Thu, 02 Feb 2017 15:52:48 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (thigh) was limited in practice again Thursday, Feb. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan sustained the thigh ailment in the Divisional Round, but considering he posted his memorable breakout performance the very next week with nine catches for 180 yards and a pair of two touchdowns, he's fine. The former Buffalo Bill could be a real dark horse to win the Super Bowl MVP award.

Fantasy Tip: The hero of the AFC Championship will be fine for the Super Bowl as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Players have an extra week to recover and recuperate for the big game. Patriots | Chris Hogan achieves postseason history

Mon, 23 Jan 2017 21:25:06 -0800

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan's 180 receiving yards in the AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers are the most ever in a postseason contest by an undrafted player. The previous high was retired WR Steve Watson's 177 yards for the 1984 Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan has rapidly become one of the league's best breakout stories, and he's picked the right time to do it. Despite registering only 38 receptions in 15 games for the Patriots during the regular season, the 28-year-old Hogan has accumulated 13 catches across both of New England's playoff bouts, to go along with 275 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. In what will likely be a shootout, Hogan may be on the verge of producing another big stat-line in the Super Bowl.

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan caught nine passes for a game-high 180 yards and two touchdowns Sunday, Jan. 22, against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship Game.

Fantasy Tip: Pittsburgh had no answer for Hogan in the first half, when he landed seven of his nine receptions and both TDs. The first-year Patriot carved up zone coverage and worked the screen game. He's a WR4 or No. 5 in 2017 fantasy drafts, possessing more worth in non-PPR setups.

New England Patriots WR Chris Hogan (thigh) is likely to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship game Sunday, Jan. 22, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: Hogan caught all four of his targeted passes for 95 yards last week before exiting with a thigh injury. He'll likely start opposite Julian Edelman and should offer enough upside to warrant a spot as a No. 3 fantasy receiver.
