Twins | Byron Buxton sitting down vs. Atlanta

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 13:37:00 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 27. OF Eddie Rosario is starting in center field and batting sixth against Atlanta Braves SP Mike Foltynewicz Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario is a fantasy asset on the rise with a .344/.359/.557 slash line over 16 July games, and Buxton hasn't been able to gain any traction at the dish with just a .674 OPS this month. Rosario is likely worth an add in deep mixed leagues, whereas Buxton isn't worth owning outside of cavernous mixed and AL-only settings.

Twins | Three Twins starters on the bench

Sun, 24 Jul 2016 09:33:52 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Robbie Grossman, SS Eduardo Escobar and C Kurt Suzuki are not in the starting lineup against Boston Red Sox SP Rick Porcello Sunday, July 24. SS Eduardo Nunez will start at shortstop, while 1B Kennys Vargas will serve as the designated hitter and is batting sixth. OF Eddie Rosario will start in left field and is batting seven, while C Juan Centeno will start at catcher and is batting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Vargas is hitting .211 with one RBI over the last seven days and probably will not be the best starting candidate for most owners. Rosario should be a sleeper option in daily fantasy leagues because he is hitting .396 with two home runs and seven RBI in July. Centeno is hitting .245 this season and would only have value in two-catcher leagues.

Sat, 23 Jul 2016 23:43:33 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI Saturday, July 23, against the Boston Red Sox.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario has five multi-hit games over the past 11 outings to raise his average from .198 to .262 just since July 6. He has re-emerged as a solid fantasy option in most AL-only leagues while running hot.

Twins | Byron Buxton sitting vs. Boston

Thu, 21 Jul 2016 12:39:09 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton is not in the starting lineup Thursday, July 21. OF Eddie Rosario is starting in center field and batting ninth against Boston Red Sox SP Steven Wright Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton cannot gain any traction at the dish and owns a .199/.246/.337 slash line through 182 plate appearances. It isn't out of the question to cut ties with the promising youngster. Rosario is heating up with a .348/.354/.609 line in July, and he could begin to see more consistent playing time if he continues to surge at the dish. Rosario is a potential low-priced flier in daily contests Thursday, too.

Twins | Eddie Rosario starting in left field

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 07:58:58 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is starting in left field and batting seventh against Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander Wednesday, July 20. OF Robbie Grossman is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: It's been a disappointing sophomore campaign for Rosario, as he sits with an underwhelming .640 OPS after flashing five-category potential last year. He's hot right now with a 15-for-42 start to July, though. He's a potential buy-low candidate in deep mixed and AL-only leagues and a low-priced flier for daily contests Wednesday. With a solid .282/.419/.453 slash line, Grossman has played well for Minnesota and should be owned in all deep leagues.

Twins | Minnesota resting three players

Sun, 17 Jul 2016 09:51:24 -0700

Minnesota Twins 1B Joe Mauer, 3B Miguel Sano and CB Byron Buxton are not in the starting lineup against Cleveland Indians SP Josh Tomlin Sunday, July 17. SS Eduardo Nunez will start at third base, while OF Robbie Grossman will serve as the designated hitter. 1B Kennys Vargas will start at first base and is batting third. OF Eddie Rosario will start in left field and is batting sixth, while OF Danny Santana will start in center field and is batting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Vargas is hitting .400 with three home runs and four RBI since being recalled from the minor leagues and should be a decent option in daily fantasy leagues. Rosario has 12 hits in his last five games and should be used in starting lineups. Santana has at least one hit in five of his last seven games, but owners probably will be able to find better options.

Griffin Sunday, July 10. 1B Joe Mauer will serve as the designated hitter, while 1B Kennys Vargas will start at first base and is batting fourth.
