Twins | Torii Hunter could be used as reserve

Fri, 16 Oct 2015 18:43:48 -0700

The Minnesota Twins remain interested in bringing OF/DH Torii Hunter back for the 2016 season, although he would likely be used in a reserve role, with OFs Aaron Hicks, Byron Buxton and Eddie Rosario expected to serve as the club's regular outfielders.

Fantasy Tip: The 40-year-old Hunter still hasn't decided if he will come back for his 20th season and a decision is unlikely to be made before next month. He hit .240 with 22 home runs and 81 RBIs over 139 games in 2015, although he hit just .217 after the All-Star break. If he returns, Hunter would likely receive enough at-bats to still be of interest to fantasy owners in AL-only and deep mixed leagues.

Twins | Byron Buxton draws in vs. Tigers

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 07:46:26 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Byron Buxton is starting in center field and batting ninth against Detroit Tigers SP Randy Wolf Sunday, Sept. 27. OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: Buxton ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) owns oodles of upside, but his .197/.236/.265 slash line shouldn't be ignored. Still, it is an A+ matchup against Wolf ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) who has allowed a 5.64 EA through his past 215 1/3 innings. Buxton checks out as a potential flier for FantasyScore players.

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 19:12:27 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario went 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs against the Detroit Tigers Friday, Sept. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has driven in five runs in the last two games and has four home runs and 16 RBIs in 84 at-bats during the month of September. He's worthy of consideration as a FantasyScore value play.

Twins | Torii Hunter taking day off

Tue, 15 Sep 2015 14:30:22 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Sept. 15. OF Eddie Rosario is in left field and is hitting sixth against Detroit Tigers SP Alfredo Simon.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is an attractive value play on FantasyScore against the up-and-down Simon. Six of Rosario's nine dingers in 2015 have come off right-handed pitchers.

Twins | Eddie Rosario sitting vs. Tigers

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 13:54:24 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup against the Detroit Tigers Monday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is the odd-man out Monday, as the Twins have been rotating four outfielders in and out of the lineup. While Rosario's solid bat has flown under the radar for much of the season, the rookie is finally beginning to slow down. He has a .224/.236/.376 slash line over his past 22 games. His fantasy stock will be an interesting commodity entering 2016.

Twins | Eddie Rosario has grand day Thursday

Thu, 03 Sep 2015 17:03:41 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario hit a grand slam in a loss to the Chicago White Sox Thursday, Sept. 3. Rosario finished the game 1-for-4 with the home run and four RBI and is hitting .271 on the year.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has quietly had a very productive season for the Twins and has earned an everyday outfield role. That could change with Aaron Hicks returning this weekend, but when Rosario is in the lineup, he continues to be an under-the-radar daily option worth considering.

Twins | Eddie Rosario not in the lineup

Thu, 27 Aug 2015 14:12:41 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup against Tampa Bay Rays SP Drew Smyly Thursday, Aug. 27. OF Shane Robinson will start in left field and is batting ninth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) probably will be back in the lineup in the next game or two. Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has at least one hit in six of the last seven games, but owners on FantasyScore should be able to find better options.

Twins | Eddie Rosario not playing Tuesday

Tue, 18 Aug 2015 13:16:13 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 18. OF Shane Robinson is playing left field and hitting ninth against New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has very little daily appeal. He's hitting .255 (37-for-145) with no home runs and 14 RBI on the year.

Twins | Eddie Rosario batting second vs. Tribe

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 15:18:27 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is batting second against Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber Friday, Aug. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is having an extremely respectable rookie season with a .276/.300/.444 slash line, and the bump up the lineup is a fantasy boost. Still, it isn't a great matchup against Kluber ($9,300, 18.6% of cap), so he is nothing more than a low-priced flier at FantasyScore.

Twins | Eddie Rosario playing right field Sunday

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 10:48:04 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario will bat sixth and play right field against Seattle Mariners SP Hisashi Iwakuma Sunday, Aug. 2, with OF Torii Hunter receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is 8-for-22 (.364) with a double, three triples, a home run and three RBIs over the past week. He makes a nice sleeper play in FantasyScore.
