Twins | Eddie Rosario not in lineup

Fri, 29 May 2015 14:29:51 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 29. OF Shane Robinson is starting in left field and hitting second in the batting order against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle.

Fantasy Tip: Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) has never hit more than three home runs in a major league season, and he doesn't have much speed, either (career-high five stolen bases). That makes him a very uninspiring FantasyScore option, even while hitting in the two-hole for a team that has been very productive at home this year.

Twins | Eddie Rosario driving in runs

Mon, 25 May 2015 01:48:45 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario has eight runs batted in despite playing in just 13 games and 40 at-bats in the major leagues.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is definitely hitting, but it's hard to read the Twins. They tend to send down players who are hitting and keep around the ones that aren't. Still, it doesn't look like Rosario is going anywhere, and as long as he's driving in runs he should be safe as a low-cost outfielder.

Twins | Eddie Rosario not in lineup

Tue, 19 May 2015 13:03:10 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not starting Tuesday, May 19, against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) looks like he is just getting the night off, so don't play him Tuesday. Shane Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is hitting just .250 in May and has little fantasy value.

Minnesota Twins OF Torii Hunter is out of the lineup Thursday, May 14, with OF Eddie Rosario in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($2,800, 5.6% of your cap) is hitting just .217 in 23 at-bats and isn't an option worth using on FantasyScore.

Twins | Eddie Rosario not starting Tuesday

Tue, 12 May 2015 13:07:50 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Eddie Rosario is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, May 12, against the Detroit Tigers. Eduardo Escobar is in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is off to a decent start, but Escobar $1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .476 with one home run and nine runs batted in over the past week. Rosario is hitting .263 with a homer, five RBIs and a stolen base. There could be a platoon situation developing here, so watch out.

Twins | Oswaldo Arcia to the DL

Mon, 04 May 2015 13:27:55 -0700

Minnesota Twins OF Oswaldo Arcia (hip) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip flexor strain Monday, May 4. The Twins recalled OF Eddie Rosario up from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario was hitting only .242 at Rochester, and he's likely to serve as a bench player for Minnesota. In Arcia's absence, Eduardo Escobar ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) and Shane Robinson ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) could split playing time in the outfield. Neither player is more than a low-end flier at FantasyScore, and they aren't worth considering outside of deep AL-only leagues.

Twins | Minnesota CF competition open

Thu, 19 Mar 2015 13:53:45 -0700

Minnesota Twins OFs Aaron Hicks, Jordan Schafer, Eddie Rosario and Shane Robinson are essentially all battling for the starting center field job in spring training, according to manager Paul Molitor. Molitor said the competition remains wide open, but Hicks is believed to be the favorite for the job and has hit .300/.400/.500 with two triples and two RBI in eight games. Rosario has also turned heads, but he's not on the current active roster and hasn't played above Class AA. Molitor thinks Hicks needs to win the job to make the roster, too, because the team wants him to play every day to further his development.

Fantasy Tip: With Hicks being the favorite for the job, he has to carry the most fantasy value, albeit limited. Hicks could also end up in a platoon in center, which makes his path to consistent at-bats shaky. None of these options should be drafted in standard leagues, and even Hicks is only worth a low investment in AL-only formats.
