Mariners | Brad Miller back in lineup

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 13:08:40 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller will bat eighth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle Sunday, July 26.

Fantasy Tip: Miller ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) is only batting .222 during the month of July and is 1-for-15 (.067) over the past week. Avoid using him in FantasyScore this afternoon.

Mariners | Chris Taylor back in lineup

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 11:48:31 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Chris Taylor will bat eighth against Toronto Blue Jays SP Drew Hutchison Saturday, July 25. SS Brad Miller is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is only batting .179 with one RBI through 78 at-bats and is not a great FantasyScore option.

Mariners | Brad Miller back down in lineup

Tue, 21 Jul 2015 14:14:14 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller is hitting seventh in the lineup Tuesday, July 21, against the Detroit Tigers.

Fantasy Tip: Miller ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) had been hitting leadoff, but Austin Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) appears to have gained that role back for a temporary stretch. Miller has not seen Tigers pitcher Shane Greene, but an .077 average in the past week doesn't help either.

Mariners | Brad Miller out of lineup

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 07:20:30 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller is out of the starting lineup Sunday, July 19, against the New York Yankees. SS Chris Taylor starts at shortstop and he'll hit eighth in the order against LHP CC Sabathia.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) is hitting .278 against lefties this season, and he can be considered as a low-ceiling option on FantasyScore.

Mariners | Brad Miller batting first

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 14:02:07 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller will start at shortstop against New York Yankees SP Masahiro Tanaka Friday, July 17, and is batting first in the lineup. OF Austin Jackson will start in center field and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: Miller ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) moves up in the lineup after spending the last several games at the bottom of the lineup. He is hitting .323 this month and could be a cheaper option for owners to consider. Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has recorded only six hits in his last 10 games and may not be a great option on FantasyScore.

Mariners | Brad Miller out of lineup

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 15:02:50 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller is not in the lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim left-handed SP Hector Santiago Friday, July 10. SS Chris Taylor is starting at the 6 and hitting leadoff.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) hasn't done enough with the stick this year (.176/.233/.235 with no home runs and one RBI in 68 at-bats) to convince daily gamers to run with him as a sleeper, even with a spot atop the Seattle batting order.

Mariners | Brad Miller out Tuesday

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 17:02:31 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller is not in the starting lineup against Detroit Tigers left-handed SP Kyle Ryan Tuesday, July 7. SS Chris Taylor is starting at the 6 and hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Taylor ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) and Miller could be forming a platoon at shortstop for the time being. That'll lessen the fantasy value of Miller in all traditional leagues. Taylor is hitting only .154 (10-for-65) with no homers and just one RBI on the season. Avoid him in all daily games.

Mariners | Brad Miller still the SS

Thu, 02 Jul 2015 16:45:16 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller will remain as the team's primary shortstop despite the call-up of SS Chris Taylor from the minors Thursday, July 2.

Fantasy Tip: Miller ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) remains a low-end shortstop play on FantasyScore, but there's plenty to value to be had if he's facing the right right-handed pitcher. Miller has all seven of his dingers and an .821 OPS against righties in 2015.

Mariners | Brad Miller reaches the seats

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 20:58:05 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs Tuesday, June 16, against the San Francisco Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Miller is showing some signs of life after hitting just .188 in the month of May. He has two multi-hit games in the past seven outings. Miller ($3,200; or 6.4% of cap) is useful in FantasyScore only as a salary saver.

Mariners | Brad Miller sitting vs. Houston

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 15:17:37 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brad Miller is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 12. SS Willie Bloomquist is starting at shortstop and batting ninth against Houston Astros SP Brett Oberholtzer Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Over his last 18 games, Miller ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has a .154/.290/.212 slash line, as he is struggling to take advantage of his everyday shortstop job. At this point, he should be reserved for AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues. Bloomquist ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is 10-for-56 (.179 batting average) with a .389 OPS, and FantasyScore players should view him as a desperation source of cap relief Friday.
