Fantasy Tip: Suzuki has only two hits in his last eight games but is still hitting .335 this season, which makes him a decent option in daily fantasy leagues. Rojas and Mathis should not be starting options outside NL-only leagues.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna showing more discipline

Thu, 30 Jun 2016 17:17:08 -0700

Miami Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill said the reason for OF Marcell Ozuna's success this year has been due to improved plate discipline. "He's narrowed his strike zone," Hill said. "In this league, if they can get you out without throwing you a strike, they won't throw you a strike. He has really tightened things up and they have to pitch to him now and he's an unbelievably talented young man. You make mistakes, he's going to make you pay for it."

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna is batting .319 with 16 home runs and 44 RBI through 282 at-bats this season, after hitting just .259 with 10 homers and 44 RBI in 459 at-bats during a disastrous 2015 campaign which resulted in him being sent to the minors for a brief period. The 25-year-old outfielder should be viewed as a viable option in all fantasy formats.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna returns Tuesday

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 12:28:34 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna (wrist) is back in the starting lineup Tuesday, June 28, after he missed a few days to rest his sore wrist.

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna is having a fantastic season after a disappointing 2015 campaign in which he was demoted to the minors for a time. He's slashing .320/.375/.574 with 16 long balls and 44 RBI and should be returned to all starting lineups right away.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna has improved plate coverage

Tue, 28 Jun 2016 09:57:07 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is standing closer to the plate this year, which has improved his plate coverage. He hit .199 with a .564 OPS against pitches on the outer third of the plate in his first three seasons. Ozuna is batting .293 with an .808 OPS on those same pitches in 2016. "The kid was overweight last year," said a scout. "He wasn't in the shape he needed to be in, and he wasn't the same cat. But the bat speed and ability have always been there."

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna's slash line of .320/.375/.574 is a huge improvement over 2015 when he fell out of favor with management and was even sent to the minors for a time. He has the natural abilities to hit for power and average and has been a very valuable outfielder to fantasy owners this year.
