Indians | CLE interested in Marcell Ozuna

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 22:54:57 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is a trade target for the Cleveland Indians. They're one of many teams interested in the outfielder, who is hitting .344 with four home runs and eight RBIs in 17 games since being banished to the minors.

Fantasy Tip: A move to Cleveland, or any other organization, would be welcome news for Ozuna, as it appears the Marlins are keeping him in NOLA due to monetary reasons.

Marlins | Miami not shopping Marcell Ozuna

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 11:07:08 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is not being shopped by the team. The fact that he's currently in the minors has other teams asking about him. It would take a big return for the Marlins to move him.

Fantasy Tip: Apparently the Marlins feel that Ozuna is a big part of their future after recently demoting him to the farm. With Class AAA New Orleans, he's hitting .344 (22-for-64) with four home runs and eight RBI. He's only worth stashing in NL-only leagues.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna doing well in minors

Sat, 18 Jul 2015 11:17:01 -0700

In his first seven games since being optioned to Class AAA New Orleans, Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna is batting .379 (11-for-29) with two doubles, two homers, five RBIs, five runs scored and six strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Ozuna was demoted nearly two weeks ago after going 9-for-72 (.125) over a 20-game stretch. He could find himself back in the majors soon if he continues his hot hitting, so owners in NL-only fantasy leagues should stash him on their rosters.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna dropped to seventh

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 14:46:54 -0700

If he's not contributing in average for his fantasy owners, he's not giving you much at all. For the time being, you should look to avoid him on FantasyScore, too, until he turns things around.

Marlins | Marcell Ozuna plates three

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 19:17:43 -0700

Miami Marlins OF Marcell Ozuna hit a three-run double, scored a run and added another hit during the Marlins 5-2 win over the Chicago Cubs Tuesday, June 2. Ozuna now has 18 RBI on the season.

Fantasy Tip: After a 25-home run, 85-RBI season in 2014, the 24-year-old Ozuna ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) had a lot of expectations looming over his fantasy stock this year. However, to date, he has been rather unimpressive. The double Tuesday was just his 14th extra-base hit of the season, and he only has three home runs. Over the 25 games leading into Tuesday, Ozuna was hitting just .228 with a .608 OPS, so hopefully his three-RBI showing is a sign of things to come. In favorable matchups, FantasyScore players can turn to him as a viable value play in contests given his cap-friendly price.
