Yankees | NY not trading three prospects

Fri, 31 Jul 2015 07:12:36 -0700

New York Yankees OF Aaron Judge, SP Luis Severino and 1B Greg Bird remain untouchable at the trade deadline.

Fantasy Tip: Severino may be the closest to a big-league call-up, especially with injuries decimating the Yankees rotation. All three are candidates to be owned in dynasty and keeper leagues right now, and you may want to consider stashing them in AL-only leagues, too.

Yankees | David Price drawing interest from Yanks

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 14:57:58 -0700

Detroit Tigers SP David Price is now firmly on the trade block as the Tigers informed teams that they will be sellers at the deadline Wednesday, July 29. The Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs are also looking to upgrade their rotations and figure to be interested in Price. The Yankees have insisted that they won't give up OF Aaron Judge, 1B Greg Bird, SS Jorge Mateo or SP Luis Severino, though.

Fantasy Tip: Price ($9,100, 18.2% of cap) will be a free agent after this year, so there's a very good chance he'll be dealt before Friday. A move to New York, or any other team, wouldn't drastically affect his fantasy value as a top-tier starter.

Yankees | NY looking at Craig Kimbrel

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 11:24:26 -0700

San Diego Padres RP Craig Kimbrel has come up in trade talks with the New York Yankees. The Yankees have no intentions of trading SP Luis Severino, OF Aaron Judge, 1B Greg Bird or SS Jorge Mateo in any trades. A person familiar with the Padres' thinking believes the Yankees would have to change that stance for any deal to happen.

Fantasy Tip: The Yanks already have a lights-out bullpen, so this trade would be a bit peculiar. If Kimbrel lands with the Yanks, he'd be expected to close for them, basically ruining much of Andrew Miller's fantasy value. In San Diego, either Joaquin Benoit or Brandon Maurer could be used in the ninth inning for saves.

Yankees | N.Y. prospects off limits

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 11:01:22 -0700

New York Yankees SP Luis Severino, OF Aaron Judge and 1B Greg Bird are said to be off limits at the trade deadline, and 2B Rob Refsnyder could also be in that group. The Yankees are searching for a starting pitcher this summer, but their chances of landing one will diminish if they are reluctant to part with their coveted prospects.

Fantasy Tip: Severino and Judge are the team's top prospects, and both of them are performing well in the minors and could be called up in the second half of the season. None of this trio is likely to have much of a fantasy impact in 2015, but they should definitely be firmly on the radar of those playing in keeper or dynasty leagues.
