Astros | Jake Marisnick not starting Tuesday

Tue, 07 Jul 2015 13:13:51 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not starting Tuesday, July 7, against the Cleveland Indians. OF Alex Presley is in left field.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is getting a rest after two straight games he played upon return from the disabled list. He is hitting .143 against Cleveland pitching, and that doesn't help either. Presley doesn't have much fantasy value.

Astros | Jake Marisnick playing at Class AAA

Fri, 03 Jul 2015 15:07:07 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick (hamstring) is scheduled to play nine innings with Class AAA El Paso Friday, July 3.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) stands to grab everyday at-bats when he returns with George Springer (wrist) on the disabled list. Marisnick has a power-speed profile, but it has been hindered by his .245 batting average and .283 on-base percentage. There is still lots of upside for the 24-year-old outfielder, though.

Astros | Jake Marisnick to DL

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 15:27:03 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, June 19, due to a left hamstring strain. In a corresponding move, the Astros activated OF Colby Rasmus from the bereavement list.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) got off to a hot start but has significantly cooled in recent weeks. He shouldn't lose his job over this, but keep an eye on Marisnick's status upon his return in case he ends up sharing time.

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 16:26:26 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Speed is a huge part of Marisnick's ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) game, so until he returns and proves his health, it would be wise to avoid him in FantasyScore contests. Marisnick has registered a hit in three consecutive games after going 4-for-35 over his previous 14 games.

Astros | Jake Marisnick sitting vs. Rockies

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 13:52:17 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting lineup against the Colorado Rockies Monday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Marisnick ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) is reeling through a 3-for-31 run over his past 12 games, and at this point, he isn't worth a roster spot outside of AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues. Until he shows signs of the player who went on the 26-for-67 tear with 13 runs, three home runs, 11 RBI and nine stolen bases with a 1.080 OPS earlier this season, he is a tough FantasyScore start, too.

Astros | Jake Marisnick out vs. Seattle

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 15:36:39 -0700

Houston Astros OF Jake Marisnick is not in the starting line Friday, June 12. OF Colby Rasmus is starting in center field and batting fifth against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez Friday.

Fantasy Tip: After a scorching start to the season, Marisnick ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) has hit just .162 with a .430 OPS over his past 27 games dating back to Sunday, May 10. Worse, though, he only has one home run and one stolen bases during the stretch. Outside of AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, Marisnick isn't worth a roster spot. Rasmus ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is nothing more than a low-priced flier for FantasyScore players Friday. Hernandez's pitching arsenal is filthy and best avoided.
