49ers | DuJuan Harris won't disappear from game plan

Sun, 13 Nov 2016 06:50:27 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is likely to have a decent role in the offense during Week 10's game against the Arizona Cardinals, even though RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is expected to play.

Fantasy Tip: Harris had 142 combined yards and a touchdown in Week 9 versus the New Orleans Saints and is averaging 4.7 yards per carry this season. He has emerged as the clear handcuff to Hyde and is worth rostering in the majority of seasonal leagues, especially in PPR formats.

49ers | DuJuan Harris carries heavy load

Tue, 08 Nov 2016 09:22:21 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris logged 53-of-60 offensive snaps in a Week 9 loss to the New Orleans Saints and may have played his way into a larger role even when Carlos Hyde is fully recovered from his shoulder sprain, according to the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.

Fantasy Tip: Backup Mike Davis finished with only eight snaps, suggesting Harris has emerged as the clear handcuff to Hyde. While Hyde is expected is expected to return this week against the Arizona Cardinals, owners should find a way to stash Harris as he clearly has earned the trust of the coaching staff, and it is possible he takes over the two-minute drill type of role Shaun Draughn appeared to have earlier this season.

49ers | DuJuan Harris starts in Week 9

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 22:11:18 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris drew the start in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints. He rushed 10 times for 59 yards while adding five receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Fantasy Tip: Harris had a solid stat line against a poor defense. He might be a hot addition off the waiver wire this week, but he'll face a much bigger challenge in Week 10 in Arizona. Still, he is worth an add as a flex option, especially in PPR formats.

49ers | DuJuan Harris starting at running back

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 07:26:43 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris will serve as the starting running back for Week 9's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Harris is receiving the starting nod because Carlos Hyde (shoulder) remains sidelined with a shoulder injury sustained in Week 6. He appears to have leapfrogged both Shaun Draughn and Mike Davis on the depth chart and is likely to receive the majority of the carries Sunday. He's worthy of consideration as a bye-week replacement in deeper fantasy leagues.

49ers | DuJuan Harris to handle 'change-up' duties

Fri, 04 Nov 2016 10:23:17 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is expected to be the change-of-pace option in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, assuming Carlos Hyde (shoulder) is able to go, according the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.

Fantasy Tip: Barrows does not account for the possibility of Hyde not playing, but it is becoming clear Harris has already overtaken Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn on the depth chart. If Hyde cannot go, Harris may make for a surprisingly decent spot-start RB2 in a game that should feature plenty of offense, although Davis and Draughn will certainly see some snaps as well.

49ers | DuJuan Harris outplaying Mike Davis

Wed, 02 Nov 2016 20:48:51 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is averaging 4.7 yards per carry and has five plays of 20-plus yards on 49 touches since signing with the team, and RB Mike Davis is averaging 1.9 yards per carry and has not had a play of longer than 13 yards in 61 career touches.

Fantasy Tip: Davis received the start in Week 7 in place of Carlos Hyde, but you may want to stash Harris in deeper leagues in case Hyde's shoulder injury causes him to miss more time at some point.

49ers | DuJuan Harris likely to see more work

Tue, 01 Nov 2016 10:50:28 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris has "earned more opportunities", according to offensive coordinator Curtis Modkins.

Fantasy Tip: Harris was activated off the practice squad a day before leading the team in carries (11) and touches (13) in a Week 7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carlos Hyde is expected to return from a shoulder injury this week, but Harris may have nudged ahead of Mike Davis and Shaun Draughn on the depth chart with his performance. He would be a desperation start at best in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.

49ers | Shaun Draughn is the backup

Mon, 22 Aug 2016 11:11:07 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB Shaun Draughn is the No. 2 running back, according to head coach Chip Kelly. RBs DuJuan Harris and Mike Davis are competing for the No. 3 position.

Fantasy Tip: Draughn made a good impression last year, primarily in the passing game. He makes for a nice complement to Carlos Hyde and could see more work than expected if the 49ers are consistently behind in games. Draughn is a solid handcuff for those who draft Hyde should be taken as a late-round flier at the latest.

49ers | DuJuan Harris to be odd-man out?

Wed, 03 Aug 2016 20:24:07 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris is projected to be cut by beat writer Grant Cohn, with RBs Carlos Hyde, Shaun Draughn and Kelvin Taylor expected to be the top three backs. Harris is expected to be the odd-man out because he isn't adept at catching the football.

Fantasy Tip: Harris wasn't expected to have much in the way of fantasy value, but if this prediction holds true he can be left off of all cheat sheets entirely.

49ers | Two RBs looking to move up order

Mon, 20 Jun 2016 22:13:01 -0700

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris saw extended reps in the offseason, and he and RB Kelvin Taylor will be looking to move up the depth chart. Currently Harris and Taylor are behind RBs Carlos Hyde and Shaun Draughn in the pecking order.

Fantasy Tip: Harris and Taylor might be worth keeping an eye on this season, as Hyde hasn't been able to stay healthy and Draughn has bounced around the league. Right now Harris and Taylor can be avoided in most fantasy leagues, but remember their names.

49ers | DuJuan Harris does it all

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 19:48:40 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris had 16 carries for 67 yards and eight catches for 86 yards in a 19-16 win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 17.

Fantasy Tip: Harris has impressed in two games since joining the 49ers, but it is too soon to tell what his role might be next year when Carlos Hyde and other backs are healthy.

49ers | DuJuan Harris shines in start

Sun, 27 Dec 2015 18:01:17 -0800

San Francisco 49ers RB DuJuan Harris had 11 carries for a career-high 73 yards and one catch for 11 yards in a 32-17 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 16.

Fantasy Tip: Harris was the next man up in San Francisco's banged-up backfield, and he responded with a career performance. He will likely shoulder the load again in the season finale, but he draws a tougher matchup against the St. Louis Rams.

Seahawks | DuJuan Harris cut

Tue, 15 Dec 2015 14:28:52 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB DuJuan Harris was released Tuesday, Dec. 15, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: This is somewhat of a puzzling move just two days after Harris took over as the Seahawks' starting running back in place of Thomas Rawls. With Harris now gone, it seems Bryce Brown now takes over the starting running back reins in Seattle, although Fred Jackson should still see his fair share of playing time, particularly in the passing game. Don't put a lot of stock into Brown, but he's definitely worth a pickup if you need a running back.

Seahawks | Fred Jackson will be third-down back

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 15:36:24 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Fred Jackson will continue to be the team's third-down back, according to head coach Pete Carroll. RBs DuJuan Harris and Bryce Brown are candidates to fill RB Thomas Rawls' (ankle) role in the running game.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson probably will continue to see limited playing time and should still be involved in the passing game. Harris is probably the most attractive option for fantasy owners at this point and could be an option this week because of his favorable matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Seahawks | Marshawn Lynch not ready

Mon, 14 Dec 2015 10:54:46 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hernia) is at least a week or two away from returning to action after having sports hernia surgery last month. RBs DuJuan Harris and Fred Jackson will be the main ball carriers now with RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) out for the season. Harris is likely to receive the first crack at the starting duties.

Fantasy Tip: At this point in the fantasy playoffs, don't feel the need to hang onto Lynch if you have other roster needs. Harris should be your first target off the waiver wire if you owned Lynch or Rawls or both. But keep in mind Harris and Jackson could be frustrating flex plays in deeper leagues since the Seahawks have transitioned to more of a passing team with Beast Mode sidelined.

Seahawks | DuJuan Harris replaces Thomas Rawls

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 11:07:25 -0800

Seattle Seahawks RB DuJuan Harris took over starting running back duties in light of Thomas Rawls (ankle) being ruled out for the game with an ankle injury.

Fantasy Tip: It looks like Harris and Jackson will split rushing duties, but Harris received four of the first five carries of Seattle’s drive after Rawls’ injury. Again, Rawls’ status will need to be updated after the game and throughout the week, so stay tuned.

Packers | DuJuan Harris hopes to join mix

Mon, 06 Jan 2014 18:11:00 -0800

Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris (knee) is hopeful of being part of a 1-2 running back punch with RB Eddie Lacy next season. He entered training camp as the team's starting running back, but a right knee injury sidelined him in the offseason, recurred in the preseason and landed him on season-ending Injured Reserve. He said at midseason that there was fluid on the knee and irritation of the patellar tendon, but no structural damage after surgery in August. He expects to be ready for the offseason program and organized team activities (OTAs) in the spring.

Packers | DuJuan Harris was going to have big role on offense

Wed, 28 Aug 2013 11:03:43 -0700

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said RB DuJuan Harris (knee) was going to have a big role on offense this season as part of a tandem with RB Eddie Lacy before he was placed on Injured Reserve. "You have a vision, packages in place on how you're going to start the season. I'll just tell you this: DuJuan was a big part of particularly my individual focus for this season. Last week was really the first opportunity to play DuJuan and Eddie Lacy in a game as kind of a 1-2 type punch format, and that has now changed," McCarthy said.

Packers | DuJuan Harris to IR

Tue, 27 Aug 2013 10:42:24 -0700

Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris (knee) has been placed on Injured Reserve and will miss the 2013 season after a negative second opinion on his knee.

Fantasy Tip: Eddie Lacy is expected to step in to start and becomes a low-end RB2 with more realistic RB3 expectations. His value makes sense in Round 5 or so in your average setup. Fellow rookie Johnathan Franklin had a tough camp but now gets a chance to showcase his natural shiftiness as a fantasy flyer.

Packers | DuJuan Harris uncertain for Week 1

Mon, 26 Aug 2013 12:21:03 -0700

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said RB DuJuan Harris (knee) will get a second opinion on his injured knee. McCarthy said he is not sure if Harris will be able to play Week 1.

Fantasy Tip: Eddie Lacy appears to be the top choice to be the team's starting running back to open the season. Lacy should be considered a No. 3 running back in fantasy leagues this season. Harris should only be drafted as a handcuff to Lacy in deeper leagues.

Packers | DuJuan Harris injury not serious

Fri, 23 Aug 2013 20:40:40 -0700

Updating a previous report, the right knee injury suffered by Green Bay Packers RB DuJuan Harris (knee) in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 23, against the Seattle Seahawks is not believed to be serious.

Fantasy Tip: Harris iced the knee, and was walking on the sideline without any issue. It is likely good news for RB Eddie Lacy, who appears to be the favorite to enter the regular season as the starting running back.

Packers | Johnathan Franklin not impressing

Mon, 19 Aug 2013 05:10:03 -0700

Green Bay Packers RB Johnathan Franklin hasn't been impressive thus far in training camp. "He looks like his numbers," a personnel man said. "He's not a real impressive guy. He plays small, and he doesn't play fast. I kind of liked him in college because he was so productive. But if you didn't know he was a draft pick, you'd think he was a free agent."

Fantasy Tip: DuJuan Harris is listed as the team's starter on the depth chart in the preseason, but Eddie Lacy still figures to be the main man in the team's backfield to open the season. Franklin's stock is dropping behind the other two backs and probably isn't worth a draft pick at this point unless you're in a very deep league.
