Mets | Juan Lagares returns to lineup

Mon, 25 May 2015 07:28:35 -0700

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares (arm, elbow) is in the starting lineup Monday, May 25.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is returning after sitting out Sunday, May 24, because of his injuries. Lagares has cooled off a bit in May and is hitting .235 this month but does have at least one hit in seven of his last eight games. Owners on FantasyScore could use Lagares in their lineups but there may be better options to use.

Mets | Juan Lagares on the bench

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 24. OF Darrell Ceciliani will take his place in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is dealing with a hamstring injury, so owners should watch to see how much time he may miss. Ceciliani only has one hit in his seven at-bats this season and should not be used in fantasy leagues at this time.

Thu, 21 May 2015 07:38:42 -0700

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares is batting leadoff against the St. Louis Cardinals Thursday, May 21.

Fantasy Tip: Setting the table is a boon for Lagares' ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) fantasy stock Thursday, and FantasyScore players have an upside low-priced flier on their hands. He is currently sporting a five-game hitting streak with two runs and a stolen base.

Mets | Juan Lagares back in lineup Friday

Fri, 15 May 2015 12:19:19 -0700

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares (arm) is back in the starting lineup and is hitting second in the batting order against Milwaukee Brewers SP Kyle Lohse Friday, May 15.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) missed the team's last three games with an injury under his armpit. The right-handed hitting outfielder doesn't have that strong of a bat, and he has only one home run and 13 RBI this year. After sitting the last few days, it'd be wise to avoid Lagares as he attempts to get his timing back at the plate.

Mets | Juan Lagares to return Friday?

Thu, 14 May 2015 09:54:41 -0700

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares (arm) is out for the third straight day Thursday, May 14, but manager Terry Collins expects Lagares to return Friday, May 15. Lagares strained a muscle in his right armpit nine days ago, and the pain intensified early on the team's road trip.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) would be facing Milwaukee Brewers starter Kyle Lohse if he returns tomorrow night. It'd be wise to probably avoid Lagares at FantasyScore in his first game back, though, especially since he's hitting only .258 (25-for-97) with one home run and 12 RBI against righties this year.

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares (arm) is out of the starting lineup again Thursday, May 14. OF John Mayberry Jr. is starting in right field and hitting fifth in the batting order against Chicago Cubs SP Travis Wood.

Fantasy Tip: Mayberry ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) was supposed to be a lefty specialist for the Mets this year, but he's hitting only .130 (3-for-23) with one home run against southpaws in 2015. Mayberry is a weak FantasyScore option.

Mets | Juan Lagares not in lineup Tuesday

Tue, 12 May 2015 13:39:54 -0700

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares is out of the starting lineup Tuesday, May 12. OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis is hitting in his place and is batting sixth.

Fantasy Tip: This appears to be a normal night off for Lagares ($2,500, 5.0% of cap). As for Nieuwenhuis ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is only hitting .200 in the past week in part-time duty so he has minimal fantasy value.

Mets | Juan Lagares, Daniel Murphy hot

Wed, 29 Apr 2015 11:42:31 -0700

New York Mets OF Juan Lagares and 2B Daniel Murphy are beginning to heat up of late. Lagares is 9-for-17 in the last four games and is 10-for-23 in his last five games at the Miami Marlins. Murphy is 10-for-25 (.400) with two home runs and six RBI in his last six games in Miami. Murphy's three hits Tuesday, April 28, made him 6-for-11 with five RBI in the last three games, raising his average 60 points to .205.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) and Murphy ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) are trending in the right direction for FantasyScore users, and you should look to capitalize on their hot streaks while you can. Both would seem to be acceptable plays in daily games today against the up-and-down Mat Latos Wednesday night.
