New Orleans Saints LB Courtney Watson (knee) had knee surgery had knee surgery Monday, Nov. 28 and will likely be placed on the team's Injured Reserve, ending his season. LB Ronald McKinnon is replacing Watson as the starting middle linebacker.

New Orleans Saints LB Courtney Watson (knee) has not practiced this week after spraining his MCL before the bye. He is listed as questionable but is probably a long shot for Sunday's game, Nov. 20. Before the injury, Watson had been demoted to third-down duty behind LB Ronald McKinnon. Rookie LB Alfred Fincher may see some playing time in Watson's absence.

The Associated Press reports New Orleans Saints head coach Jim Haslett removed the starting group of linebackers in the first quarter of the Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings. LB Courtney Watson, LB Colby Bockwoldt and LB Sedrick Hodge were replaced by LB Ronald McKinnon, LB T.J. Slaughter and LB James Allen. Haslett has not mentioned who would start against the Buffalo Bills Week 4.

The players recognized were: QB Josh McCown, WR Anquan Boldin, LBs Ronald McKinnon and Raynoch Thompson and C Pete Kendall. "Now, I'm sure there are some more, and if the other guys get upset about it, they can call me," Green said. "But I'm saying based on what I've seen I would pencil those guys in as starters. The AP reports new Arizona Cardinals coach Dave McGinnis promised changes for the team, starting with the coaching staff. "There's going to be changes made, and some of these changes are going to come fast and furious," McGinnis said. He went on to say the fans would need a program to recognize the team next season. McGinnis would not mention any names, but heading the list of those not likely to return is offensive coordinator Marc Trestman. Among the possible replacements, San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Geep Chryst, who was Arizona's quarterbacks coach in Jake Plummer's best season. McGinnis remains solidly behind Plummer, despite his struggles. He said the team also needs an outside linebacker to start alongside Ronald McKinnon and Rob Frederickson. The secondary could be a problem, too, especially if CB Aeneas Williams chooses to retire or sign with another team.
