San Diego Padres OF Jeff Francoeur is being promoted to the majors from Triple-A El Paso. OF Rymer Liriano was promoted from Double-A San Antonio to El Paso. OF Alex Dickerson was moved up to San Antonio from Single-A Eugene.

Fantasy Tip: Liriano may arrive in the bigs by September because of his growing prospect status and performance on the farm.

Updating a previous item, San Diego Padres OF Alex Dickerson (heel) had a cyst removed from his left heel that could have been career-threatening. He'll be on crutches for a month and could resume workouts in four to five months. Dickerson is hoping to return later this year.

San Diego Padres 1B/OF Alex Dickerson will be an outfielder moving ahead, according to general manager Josh Byrnes. Dickerson played first base in the past in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. "We think he can really hit," Byrnes said Monday, Nov. 25. "We spent a lot of time on him in the (2011) draft. I know he's worked hard on his defense, which was a question coming out of college."
