Houston Astros C Jason Castro (knee, rib cage) is not ready to participate in the Arizona Fall League, so C Roberto Pena has been added to take his place. Castro is dealing with a rib cage injury, but the team expects him to take over the spot in the AFL eventually. Other players on the team that are playing in the AFL are OFs Jay Austin and Jacob Goebbert, Ps Chris Hicks, Jason Stoffel, Dallas Keuchel and Josh Zeid and 1B Kody Hinze.

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel has been promoted from Double-A Corpus Christi to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel posted a 7-6 record with a 2.80 ERA in 16 starts with Double-A Corpus Christi in the first half. He struck out 58 batters with just 25 walks in 103 innings, and he had one complete game shutout. Opposing batters are hitting just .247 against him. Keuchel has won four of his past five decisions in six starts dating back to June 4.
