Astros | Dallas Keuchel is first 15-game winner

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 22:36:06 -0700

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel allowed three hits with no walks and nine strikeouts over seven scoreless innings in a win Tuesday, Aug. 25, against the New York Yankees.

Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,200, 18.4% of cap) hasn't allowed a run in 16 innings in two starts against the Yankees. He remains a must-start in FantasyScore, especially whenever he is at home.

Yankees | Stephen Drew sitting Tuesday

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 13:17:05 -0700

New York Yankees 2B Stephen Drew is out of the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25, against the Houston Astros. 2B Brendan Ryan is batting ninth against Astros SP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: Drew ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is out due to the lefty vs. lefty matchup, so he should not be in your FantasyScore lineup. Ryan ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitless against Keuchel and carries no fantasy value.

Yankees | Brian McCann not starting Tuesday

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 13:12:36 -0700

New York Yankees C Brian McCann is out of the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25, against the Houston Astros. C J.R. Murphy is hitting seventh against Astros SP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: With Alex Rodriguez serving as DH for this game, McCann ($4,500, 9.0% of cap) is taking a seat. Murphy ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) has little fantasy value.

Yankees | Mark Teixeira back at first base

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 13:02:41 -0700

New York Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira (leg) is back in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25, against the Houston Astros. Teixeira is batting fourth against Astros SP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: A sore leg has kept Teixeira ($5,300, 10.6% of cap) out of the lineup for the past week. Standard procedure says you should keep a player out for a game or two to see how he responds, but Teixeira has been hitting the ball well and has a .333 mark against Keuchel.

Yankees | Brett Gardner out of Tuesday lineup

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 12:49:14 -0700

New York Yankees OF Brett Gardner is not in the starting lineup Tuesday, Aug. 25, against the Houston Astros. The Yankees have OF Chris Young starting in left and batting second against Astros SP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: Gardner ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has a .160 mark in the past week and has no hits in four at-bats against Keuchel. He does hit .288 against lefties, but three-fourths of his at-bats are against the right so this is the likely reason for his absence. Young ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) bats .353 against Keuchel so he is worth the gamble.

Astros | Dallas Keuchel keeps ball down

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 21:51:27 -0700

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel is scheduled to face the New York Yankees Monday, Aug. 24. He leads the majors in groundball-to-flyball ratio of 4.53, which will serve him well in homer-friendly Yankee Stadium.

Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,200, 18.4% of cap) posted a complete gem shutout with six hits, one walk and 12 strikeouts in a win against the Yankees in Houston back on June 25. He is a must-play in FantasyScore even though he has alternated wins and losses in each of his past seven decisions.

Astros | Dallas Keuchel discussing extension

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 11:18:02 -0700

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel and his agent, Darek Braunecker, have discussed a multi-year extension with the Astros. Keuchel is having a breakout year in 2015 and has already surpassed his strikeout total from last year and is more than 20 innings away from his total of 200 innings in 2014.

Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,200, 18.4% of cap) has been irreplaceable to his fantasy owners this year, and he continues to be a top-end starter on FantasyScore every time he toes the rubber because of his ability to induce frequent ground balls and keep the ball from leaving the yard.

Astros | Dallas Keuchel excels in Tampa

Wed, 19 Aug 2015 15:30:18 -0700

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel is 11-0 with a 1.26 ERA in 13 career starts at Minute Maid Park, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays. He has not allowed a home run there, either. Keuchel faces the Rays Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,200, 18.4% of cap) is the current favorite for the American League Cy Young award and should be an excellent choice on FantasyScore tonight. The Rays have been pretty good against lefties this year, but they struggle with an OPS of .684 at home.

Astros | Dallas Keuchel continues stellar season

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 06:30:03 -0700

Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel allowed a single run on six hits and a walk while striking out eight hitters through seven innings during the Astros' 5-1 over the Detroit Tigers Friday, Aug. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Keuchel ($9,200, 18.4% of cap) is up to 14 wins this season, and he hasn't been beat at home yet. The lefty owns a 11-0 record, a 1.26 ERA and a 9.5 K/9 through 13 home starts. Continue to view Keuchel as a fringe fantasy ace in all fantasy formats, but pump him up a notch when starting at Minute Maid Park.

Indians | Corey Kluber still a league leader

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 20:35:17 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber leads American League pitchers with 84 no-hit innings this season, four ahead of Oakland Athletics SP Sonny Gray and five ahead of Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) doesn't have the wins that he did from a year ago when he won the American League Cy Young Award, but more often than not, especially early in the season, he wasn't getting much in the way of run support. He remains a viable FantasyScore option due to his high K/9 (strikeouts per nine innings) ratio and low ERA.
