Seattle Mariners 3B Kyle Seager started at second base Monday, May 14, with 2B Dustin Ackley serving as the designated hitter. "He's played a good third base for us," manager Eric Wedge said. "He's more familiar with second and had a heck of a game over there the other day. To be able to play him at either place and be able to feel good about him defensively, there is a lot of value with that." Seager will continue to see most of his time at third base, however. He's hitting .333 with five doubles, three home runs and 14 RBIs in his last 16 games.

Seattle Mariners C John Jaso is hitting leadoff Wednesday, May 9, only the second time a catcher in club history has hit leadoff, joining former C Bob Stinson, who did it twice in 1978. 3B Kyle Seager moved to second base with 3B Alex Liddi at third. OF Casper Wells and 3B Chone Figgins are also in the lineup.

Seattle Mariners 3B Kyle Seager was held out of the starting lineup Friday, April 27, but he will return to the lineup Saturday, April 28. "I talked with Seager. I wanted to play him yesterday and today, too," manager Eric Wedge said. "But you can only throw nine out there and we've got other things going on with other players we've got to navigate through right now. But we'll have him back out there tomorrow. He understands that."

The Seattle Mariners' offense came home for its first Safeco Field action of 2012 with three regulars hitting .300 or better: 3B/OF Chone Figgins (.303), OF Ichiro Suzuki (.303) and 3B Kyle Seager (.321). Overall, the team batting average is .252, and Seattle has scored 31 runs in eight games. Last season, the Mariners hit .233 and scored 3.4 runs per game.

Seattle Mariners 3B Kyle Seager remained in the fifth spot of manager Eric Wedge's starting lineup Tuesday, April 10, against the Texas Rangers. Seager went hitless in four at-bats. C Jesus Montero was dropped to the sixth spot, and he went 2-for-3 while serving as the designated hitter.
