He has a batting average of just .164. 2B Orlando Hudson is hitting .208. The team could be getting impatient, which might cause them to move 3B Jedd Gyorko to second base in the minors.

The San Diego Padres have optioned INF Jeudy Valdez to Double-A San Antonio. They have also reassigned Ps Miles Mikolas and Matt Palmer, INF Jedd Gyorko and OF Jaff Decker to minor league camp.

San Diego Padres OF Jedd Gyorko won the franchise's minor-league Offensive Player of the Y ear award. OF Rico Noel was rewarded with the minor-league Defensive Player of the Year awardd, while P Keyvius Sampson won Pitcher of the Year. OF Rymer Liriano took home the Baserunner of the Year award.

Coming in after Arenado are Miguel Sano (Twins), Anthony Rendon (Nationals), Mike Olt (Rangers), Nick Castellanos (Tigers), Will Middlebrooks (Red Sox), Jedd Gyorko (Padres), Matt Dominguez (Marlins), Wilmer Flores (Mets) and Zack Cox (Cardinals).

San Diego Padres 3B Jedd Gyorko is batting .409 (18-for-44) with three doubles, three home runs and 13 RBIs in the Arizona Fall League this offseason. OF Jaff Decker is hitting .373 (17-for-46) with two doubles, a triple, a home run and 11 RBIs.

San Diego Padres 3B Jedd Gyorko (groin) went 3-for-5 in his debut in the Arizona Fall League but suffered a slight groin strain in the process. He sat out for three games and is scheduled to return early this week.
