Twins | Tommy Milone on DL

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 09:19:55 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Tommy Milone (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left elbow Monday, Aug. 3. SP Tyler Duffey will be called up from Class AAA Rochester to make his major league debut Wednesday, Aug. 5, against the Toronto Blue Jays. Duffey went 4-6 with a 2.72 ERA for Rochester this year. SP Jose Berrios was in consideration, too, but the Twins felt Duffey was more prepared. Milone's DL trip is precautionary, and manager Paul Molitor said Milone's elbow was "in good shape" structurally. SP Trevor May remains in a relief role.

Fantasy Tip: Duffey will be a cheap option on FantasyScore if you want to build your lineup with studs at other positions. However, a matchup against the highest run-scoring team in the major leagues isn't an ideal place to use the young right-hander.

Twins | Trevor May is hard-luck loser

Tue, 09 Jun 2015 20:29:27 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May allowed one earned run, seven hits and three walks over six innings in a loss Tuesday, June 9, against the Kansas City Royals. He also struck out five batters in the quality start.

Fantasy Tip: May ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) has been hot lately, posting quality starts in four of the past five outings. He remains a solid mid-level FantasyScore option despite the loss Tuesday.

Twins | Trevor May brilliant in Game 2 win

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 22:49:37 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May allowed just two hits over seven innings to win the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday, June 3, against the Boston Red Sox. He did not walk any batters while recording nine strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: May ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) is a solid play in FantasyScore considering he has allowed just one walk with 26 strikeouts over 26 2/3 innings in his past four starts.

Twins | Trevor May to work in doubleheader

Tue, 02 Jun 2015 19:37:31 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May will work Game 2 of the doubleheader Wednesday, June 3, against the Boston Red Sox.

Fantasy Tip: May had worked at least six innings in each of his past three outings while striking out 17 over 19 2/3 innings. He could be a sneaky play for FantasyScore owners at $4,600 (or 9.2% of cap), especially given how much Rick Porcello struggles against Minnesota.

Twins | Trevor May likely for doubleheader

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 20:52:15 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May is a likely candidate to start one of the games of the doubleheader Wednesday, June 3, against the Boston Red Sox as he would be working on regular rest.

Fantasy Tip: May has been respectable with a 1-0 record and 4.58 ERA with just one walk allowed and 17 strikeouts over 19 2/3 innings in his past three outings. FantasyScore players might find May to be a solid steal at $4,600 (or 9.2% of cap).

Twins | Personal best for Trevor May

Sat, 23 May 2015 17:55:38 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May allowed three runs on six hits while striking out nine in a career-high seven innings in a win over the Chicago White Sox Saturday, May 23.

Fantasy Tip: The nine strikeouts were his most in a game this season, but overall, May ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) hasn't showed the game-to-game consistency to be considered anything more than a risky matchup play at FantasyScore.

Twins | Trevor May to start Thursday

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 14:32:44 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May (arm) has been cleared to start Thursday, April 30.

Fantasy Tip: May ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) hasn't gone past six innings in any of his three starts this year, and he carries an ERA of 4.91 into his outing against the Chicago White Sox Thursday. We don't recommend starting him at FantasyScore Thursday coming off a short outing and injury.

Twins | Trevor May expects to make start

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 19:45:49 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May (arm) was forced to leave his start Saturday, April 25, against the Seattle Mariners after being hit by a liner in the pitching arm. X-rays were negative, and he said Monday, April 27, that he expects to make his next scheduled start Thursday, April 30, against the Chicago White Sox.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore owners will want to take a wait-and-see approach with May, even at a temptingly low salary of $3,000 (or 6.0% of cap). Let him prove his health in a full start before trusting him again.

Twins | Trevor May to make next start

Mon, 27 Apr 2015 14:33:55 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May (arm) is expected to make his next scheduled start after taking a line drive off his arm in his last outing, according to manager Paul Molitor.

Fantasy Tip: May ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has looked decent in his last two starts, but his ERA sits at 4.91 in three starts. It's probably the best idea to avoid him at FantasyScore coming off his short start. He's lined up to face the Chicago White Sox this weekend.

Twins | Ricky Nolasco placed on DL

Sat, 11 Apr 2015 09:29:11 -0700

Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, April 11, because of right elbow inflammation. SP Trevor May was recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

Fantasy Tip: Nolasco ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) does not have any structural damage, so he may not miss a lot of time because of the injury. May should join the starting rotation but may not be a great option on FantasyScore at this point.
