|Twins | Trevor May being scaled back|
Tue, 24 May 2016 15:11:50 -0700
Fantasy Tip: May was lights out in April and was gaining steam for a shot at saves with Glen Perkins on the DL and Kevin Jepsen shaky in the ninth. However, an absolutely brutal stretch from May 13 up until last night has changed things. May has allowed 10 earned runs and 14 hits in just 3 1/3 innings in that span. Now he'll pitch in less stressful situations. With Perkins nearing a return, it looks like May's window is closing in order to make an impression for long-term closing duties. If you have more pressing needs in deeper leagues, don't be afraid to cut May loose for now.

|Twins | Trevor May lands in bullpen|
Wed, 16 Mar 2016 17:14:08 -0700
Fantasy Tip: May has exhibited some potential in his short major league career that he can be a fine bottom-of-the-rotation starter, but Minnesota apparently has other visions for the 26-year-old. And it might make the most sense, as May possessed a 2.87 ERA in 32 relief appearances last season compared to a 4.43 ERA in 16 starts. That being said, he'll have something to offer owners in deep leagues that count holds as a category, but that's about it. He still may pop up in the rotation at some point later on if there's an injury or two.

|Twins | Ricky Nolasco not guaranteed a spot|
Tue, 02 Feb 2016 11:57:50 -0800
Minnesota Twins SP Ricky Nolasco is not guaranteed a spot in the starting rotation to open the season, according to manager Paul Molitor. Molitor said SP Tyler Duffey "has a really good chance" to crack the rotation. SP Tommy Milone is a player that will battle with Nolasco for a job, and RP Trevor May will receive a look, as well. SP Jose Berrios will receive a look and could become a rotation option sometime this season.
Fantasy Tip: Nolasco has posted ERAs over 5.00 each of the last two seasons and pitched only 37 1/3 innings in 2015 because of injury. It's a stretch to think he can help many fantasy owners outside of deep AL-only leagues if he wins a rotation spot. Duffey, despite a lack of pitch speed, can generate strikeouts with his diverse arsenal. He's not a bad gamble in deep mixed leagues in a pitcher's park if he wins a job.

|Twins | Trevor May has hip adjustment|
Thu, 17 Sep 2015 18:16:41 -0700
Fantasy Tip: Since being moved from the rotation to the bullpen in July, May has posted a 3.52 ERA with seven walks and 33 strikeouts over 30 2/3 innings. He can be ignored in FantasyScore as long as he isn't starting.

|Twins | Trevor May starting Friday|
Thu, 13 Aug 2015 10:39:24 -0700
Fantasy Tip: May is just making a spot start and shouldn't be considered in any daily leagues, especially since his pitch count will likely be limited. This one will be more of a bullpen game against the Cleveland Indians.

|Twins | Tommy Milone on DL|
Tue, 04 Aug 2015 09:19:55 -0700
Minnesota Twins SP Tommy Milone (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left elbow Monday, Aug. 3. SP Tyler Duffey will be called up from Class AAA Rochester to make his major league debut Wednesday, Aug. 5, against the Toronto Blue Jays. Duffey went 4-6 with a 2.72 ERA for Rochester this year. SP Jose Berrios was in consideration, too, but the Twins felt Duffey was more prepared. Milone's DL trip is precautionary, and manager Paul Molitor said Milone's elbow was "in good shape" structurally. SP Trevor May remains in a relief role.
Fantasy Tip: Duffey will be a cheap option on FantasyScore if you want to build your lineup with studs at other positions. However, a matchup against the highest run-scoring team in the major leagues isn't an ideal place to use the young right-hander.

|Twins | Trevor May is hard-luck loser|
Tue, 09 Jun 2015 20:29:27 -0700
Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May allowed one earned run, seven hits and three walks over six innings in a loss Tuesday, June 9, against the Kansas City Royals. He also struck out five batters in the quality start.
Fantasy Tip: May ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) has been hot lately, posting quality starts in four of the past five outings. He remains a solid mid-level FantasyScore option despite the loss Tuesday.

|Twins | Trevor May brilliant in Game 2 win|
Wed, 03 Jun 2015 22:49:37 -0700
Minnesota Twins SP Trevor May allowed just two hits over seven innings to win the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday, June 3, against the Boston Red Sox. He did not walk any batters while recording nine strikeouts.
Fantasy Tip: May ($4,600; or 9.2% of cap) is a solid play in FantasyScore considering he has allowed just one walk with 26 strikeouts over 26 2/3 innings in his past four starts.

|Twins | Trevor May to work in doubleheader|
Tue, 02 Jun 2015 19:37:31 -0700
Fantasy Tip: May had worked at least six innings in each of his past three outings while striking out 17 over 19 2/3 innings. He could be a sneaky play for FantasyScore owners at $4,600 (or 9.2% of cap), especially given how much Rick Porcello struggles against Minnesota.

|Twins | Trevor May likely for doubleheader|
Mon, 01 Jun 2015 20:52:15 -0700
Fantasy Tip: May has been respectable with a 1-0 record and 4.58 ERA with just one walk allowed and 17 strikeouts over 19 2/3 innings in his past three outings. FantasyScore players might find May to be a solid steal at $4,600 (or 9.2% of cap).
