Blue Jays | Kevin Pillar sitting vs. Twins

Fri, 20 May 2016 14:12:45 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Kevin Pillar is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 20. OF Ezequiel Carrera is starting in center field and batting eighth against Minnesota Twins SP Tyler Duffey Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Pillar is a viable starter in deep leagues, but he is currently reeling along an 0-for-17 stretch, so a night off might help him return to form. In his previous 26 games since being demoted down the lineup, Pillar returned 10 runs, two home runs, 12 RBI, three stolen bases and a .323/.352/.485 slash line. There's upside, but expect the peaks and valleys to continue. Carrera is a potential low-priced flier in daily contests Friday, as he has started the season 16-for-45 (.356 batting average) at the dish.

Blue Jays | Michael Saunders leading off

Sat, 14 May 2016 15:25:51 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Michael Saunders is leading off Saturday, May 14, with OF Kevin Pillar moved down to seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Saunders is hitting .455 the last week and has a .321-5-11 line on the season. If he's floating on waivers, he needs to be owned. He's a midrange start against Colby Lewis. Pillar has a .273-3-13 line, but he had much more luster atop the lineup. He's a low-end option in DFS.

Blue Jays | Kevin Pillar swinging hot stick

Sun, 08 May 2016 13:05:10 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays OF Kevin Pillar went 2-for-4 and scored a run Sunday, May 08, in a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Fantasy Tip: Pillar hasn't batted atop the order as often as his owners probably expected, but he's doing his part to force the issue by batting .303 - the highest mark of any Toronto regular. The 27-year-old is off to a slow start on basepaths with only one steal - he had 25 in 29 chances a season ago - but he's doing enough with his bat, going 7-for-17 with a homer and six RBI in his last four games alone, to remain in all lineups.
