Atlanta Braves 2B Jose Peraza, 2B Alberto Callaspo, 2B Phil Gosselin, SS Jace Peterson and 3B Kelly Johnson are all part of a "wide open" competition for the starting second base job, manager Fredi Gonzalez said Thursday, Feb. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Peraza is the Braves' top-ranked prospect, and whether or not he wins the starting gig out of Spring Training, he is probably worth stashing, especially in NL-only leagues.

San Diego Padres INF Jace Peterson is starting at third base and hitting eighth in the lineup Friday, Aug. 15. 3B Yangervis Solarte (oblique) remains out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson can fill in at the hot corner with Solarte banged up. Peterson is strictly an NL-only option, even if Solarte winds up on the disabled list.

San Diego Padres 1B Yonder Alonso (forearm) was placed on the disabled list Thursday, Aug. 14, with a strained right forearm. In a corresponding move, INF Jace Peterson was recalled from Triple-A El Paso.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson is worth a flier in NL-only formats, but don't expect everyday at-bats. Alonso can be dropped in the majority of mixed formats.

The San Diego Padres optioned SP Jesse Hahn to Triple-A El Paso and recalled INF Jace Peterson.

Fantasy Tip: This was likely only done because of the All-Star break. Hahn has been lights out in his most recent stint with the Friars and should be back after the break. If someone flinches at the move and dumps him, pounce on him.
