Braves | Jace Peterson out against LHP

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 07:37:49 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson is out of the lineup Wednesday, Sept. 2, with 2B Daniel Castro hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Castro isn't a good option on FantasyScore despite a good matchup against Adam Conley.

Braves | Jace Peterson bad against lefties

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 11:09:36 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson has a .198 average against left-handed pitches, which is the fifth lowest mark among National League qualifiers, as is his .247 on-base percentage against them.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has fallen on hard times lately, and he's batting just .225 (20-for-89) with two home runs and nine RBI in August, and he's been moved down in the order. Hector Olivera is expected to come up to play in September, too, which could cause Peterson to lose playing time. Peterson isn't a great choice on FantasyScore right now.

Braves | Jace Peterson at leadoff

Thu, 06 Aug 2015 11:30:35 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson is hitting leadoff against Miami Marlins SP Jose Urena Thursday, Aug. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) hit only .230 (56-for-240) with three home runs, 24 runs scored and 31 RBI as the leadoff hitter for Atlanta for much of the year, but the move back atop the lineup surely increases his daily value. Just keep in mind that he's only hitting .212 with two homers and 12 RBI since July 1.

Braves | Jace Peterson drives in three

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 19:15:14 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored in a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday, Aug. 2.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been in a bit of slump, and it cost him a spot at the top of the lineup. If he can play his way back into a better spot in the order, he could be worth considering again at FantasyScore.

Braves | Jace Peterson falls in lineup

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 12:55:49 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson is batting sixth in the starting lineup against Baltimore Orioles SP Kevin Gausman Monday, July 27.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) has been struggling at the plate this month and could be helped by moving lower in the starting lineup. He is hitting .176 this month and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Braves | Jace Peterson out vs. lefty

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 13:35:58 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 24. SS Pedro Ciriaco is starting at second base and batting second with OF Cameron Maybin moving up to the leadoff spot against St. Louis Cardinals SP Tim Cooney.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) is slumping in July with a .169/.239/.231 slash line over 73 plate appearances, and he should be avoided in the majority of fantasy formats until he turns it around at the dish. Maybin's ($4,900, 9.8% of cap) fantasy value isn't overly impacted, and he remains a mid-tier outfield option. Ciriaco ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) checks out as a cheap flier for FantasyScore contests Friday.

Braves | Jace Peterson coasts into second half

Mon, 13 Jul 2015 11:59:22 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson has a .200/.280/.333 slash line with just 11 runs and 11 RBI over his past 27 games and 121 plate appearances. He also has a 24.0% strikeout rate during the span.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) has become entrenched in the leadoff spot for the Braves this season, but he'll likely need to up his on-base percentage and batting average to keep the role going forward. FantasyScore players should view Peterson as risky start until he shows signs of life at the dish. In seasonal leagues, Peterson should be reserved for deep mixed leagues.

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 11:44:49 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson is back in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Chad Bettis Sunday, July 12, batting second.

Fantasy Tip: Peterson ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is just 7-for-38 (.184) this month with two RBIs and should be avoided in FantasyScore until he breaks out of his slump.

Braves | Jace Peterson out of lineup

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 10:40:38 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Saturday, July 11. INF Pedro Ciriaco will play second base and bat second.

Fantasy Tip: Ciriaco ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .296 with 10 RBIs this season but has fared better against righties and is hitless in one career at-bat versus De La Rosa. Use him in FantasyScore only if you're in desperate need of cap relief.

Braves | Jace Peterson sitting vs. Brewers

Mon, 06 Jul 2015 13:54:43 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Jace Peterson is not in the starting lineup Monday, July 6. SS Pedro Ciriaco is starting at second base and batting sixth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Kyle Lohse Monday.

Fantasy Tip: With Peterson ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) out, the Braves' everyday lineup all move up a slot with Cameron Maybin ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) leading off. It is a slight boost for Maybin. Against Loshe, he and Ciriaco ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) are viable FantasyScore plays. Ciriaco is especially interesting at a shallow position and a minimum price.
