Giants | Joe Panik activated from DL

Thu, 28 Jul 2016 14:24:42 -0700

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (concussion) was activated from the disabled list Thursday, July 28. In a corresponding move, 2B Grant Green was optioned to the minors.

Fantasy Tip: When he's been healthy, Panik's had a respectable season with a .256/.321/407 slash line, 45 runs, seven home runs, 36 RBI and five stolen bases. However, while there's upside, he's likely best suited for deep leagues at this point.

Giants | Joe Panik set for rehab assignment

Mon, 25 Jul 2016 18:00:40 -0700

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (concussion) will start a rehab assignment with Class AAA Sacramento Tuesday, July 26. It's possible he could rejoin the club during their current home stand.

Fantasy Tip: Panik has been sidelined since the end of June, but fortunately, it looks like he's coming close to a return. The Giants could certainly use his bat in the lineup again, as they've been struggling since the All-Star break. Panik is only slashing .256/.321/.407 on the year in 70 ballgames, but he hit over .300 in each of his previous two seasons in the majors. He's worth scooping up.

Giants | Joe Panik making progress

Sun, 24 Jul 2016 13:09:59 -0700

San Francisco Giants 2B Joe Panik (concussion) has turned a corner in his recovery from a concussion and is making progress, according to manager Bruce Bochy.

Fantasy Tip: Panik likely will need to go on a rehab assignment before he is cleared to play again, so he is still probably a few weeks away from returning. Panik posted solid numbers when he was healthy and will be a decent option in mixed leagues when he returns to the lineup.
