The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a deal with first-round pick P Chris Reed. Terms weren't disclosed. Though he was used primarily out of the bullpen while at Stanford, the Dodgers see the left-hander as a major league starting pitcher.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to terms with first-round draft choice P Chris Reed. The deal includes a signing bonus of just under $1.6 million.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are unlikely to sign P Chris Reed quickly after drafting him 16th overall in the 2011 MLB Draft. Reed is being advised by agent Scott Boras, and the Dodgers rarely go above "slot" money even for first-round picks. Reed is a junior at Stanford and could return for his senior year.
