Astros | Houston not talking George Springer

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 10:27:04 -0800

The Houston Astros are not talking about OF George Springer in any deals, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: This comes despite reports suggesting the contrary. Many players are discussed during the winter meetings, but it's still unlikely that Springer is moved. He's one of the best up-and-coming outfielders that can contribute in multiple fantasy baseball categories.

Houston Astros OF George Springer went 2-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base during the Astros' 6-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks Saturday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Tip: FantasyScore players should take advantage of Springer's ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) high-end current form and the value his salary presents. It was the fifth consecutive game he posted multiple hits, and he owns the upside to tilt the scales across all fantasy categories.

Astros | George Springer on base consistently

Mon, 21 Sep 2015 10:27:38 -0700

Houston Astros OF George Springer has reached base safely in each game since coming off the disabled list Sept. 4. He enters the game Monday, Sept. 21, riding a modest six-game hitting streak.

Fantasy Tip: With Springer ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) facing the soft-tossing Jered Weaver tonight, he seems like a pretty safe pick for the cost on FantasyScore. Continue to ride the wave of his modest hitting streak.

Houston Astros OF George Springer is not in the starting lineup against Minnesota Twins SP Tyler Duffey Sunday, Sept. 6. 1B Marwin Gonzalez will start in left field and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Houston Astros OF George Springer is back in the leadoff spot against Minnesota Twins Friday, Sept. 4, after being activated from the disabled list earlier in the day.

He has hit .321 (44-for-137) with seven of his 13 home runs this year, so he's clearly most comfortable atop the order. Run with him tonight as a strong daily play against a struggling hurler.

Fantasy Tip: Get ready to return Springer ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) to all of your starting lineups if he's activated this weekend. He should continue to be a solid starting weapon on FantasyScore, too, but you may prefer to give him some time to ease back into the lineup first.

Astros | George Springer continues rehab

Tue, 01 Sep 2015 14:06:20 -0700

Houston Astros OF George Springer (knee) will play eight or nine innings in a rehab game Tuesday, Sept. 1, and will play again Thursday, Sept. 3, before being re-evaluated, according to manager A.J. Hinch.

Fantasy Tip: Springer ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should remain owned in all fantasy formats, as he still has enough time to contribute in fantasy leagues and on FantasyScore when he's back from the DL. Both Colby Rasmus ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) and Jake Marisnick ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) could lose valuable playing time and could even form a platoon in the outfield.
