Indians | Francisco Lindor reassigned to minors

Thu, 26 Mar 2015 10:48:24 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor was reassigned to minor league camp Thursday, March 26, and he will start the season with Triple-A Columbus. Lindor had a slash line of .297/.308/.592 with two home runs, a triple and three doubles in 16 Cactus League game this spring. SS Jose Ramirez, 22, is expected to hold down shortstop duties until Lindor is ready.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor is MLB.com's No. 4 prospect in 2015. He shouldn't be drafted in standard mixed leagues, but he should definitely be on the radar of those in AL-only and keeper leagues.

Indians | Francisco Lindor impressing Tribe

Thu, 12 Mar 2015 12:41:48 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor, at age 21, has all the skills necessary to become a successful major league shortstop, and he's shown maturity beyond his years. Lindor is a plus defender, runs well, throws even better and posted a .278 average and .355 on-base percentage in four minor league stops. He's impressing the team this spring with his results at the plate, too. Lindor moved to the U.S. at age 12 and faced top competition as a teenager.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor is the Indians' top prospect heading into 2015, and there's a good chance that we'll see him in the majors at some point this year. Jose Ramirez is expected to start the season as the starter at the 6, but Lindor has way more upside and is the long-term plan there. He should be drafted in all dynasty and AL-only leagues, but you can likely hold off on him in standard 12-team mixed leagues.

Indians | Cleveland not rushing Francisco Lindor

Mon, 02 Mar 2015 14:01:15 -0800

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor won't be rushed to the big leagues this year, according to manager Terry Francona. Lindor is ranked as the Tribe's top prospects by several outlets and is ranked fourth among MLB.com's top 100. Lindor is expected to start 2015 at Triple-A Columbus because the team is content with SS Jose Ramirez starting the season. Lindor hit .276 with 11 home runs, 16 doubles, four triples, 62 RBI, 75 runs and 28 stolen bases in 126 games between Class AA and AAA.

Fantasy Tip: Because Lindor won't start the year in the majors, he's not worth drafting in standard 12-team leagues. However, he'll be a popular waiver wire target for his combo of speed and power once he's up. It might not take long, depending on whether Ramirez can continue impressing the Tribe at the 6. Lindor is worth drafting and stashing in AL-only leagues, and he's very relevant in keeper and dynasty leagues.

Indians | Francisco Lindor promoted to Triple-A

Mon, 21 Jul 2014 20:51:44 -0700

The Cleveland Indians promoted SS Francisco Lindor from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus Monday, July 21. "You never expect to go somewhere else. You work for it," Lindor said.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor is one of the top prospects in baseball, and he could end up being a September call-up when rosters expand. He is a must-have in all long-term keeper fantasy leagues, and those in non-keeper AL-only formats might want to stash him away for later in the season.

Indians | Francisco Lindor re-assigned

Wed, 12 Mar 2014 12:59:38 -0700

The Cleveland Indians re-assigned SS Francisco Lindor to minor league camp Wednesday, March 12.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor is a fine young shortstop prospect for the Indians, and there's a good chance he could be a September call-up for the Tribe this season. With Asdrubal Cabrera's time in Cleveland likely coming to an end, 2015 could be the year Lindor is up for good.
