Indians | Francisco Lindor showing maturity

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 16:04:18 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor is showing maturity and not worrying about his early struggles at the plate. "It's early ... I don't have many at-bats" Lindor said Saturday, July 18. Lindor then raised his batting average by 22 points over the next two games.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) is hitting .246 for the season, with two home runs and one stolen base through 127 plate appearances. Lindor should be owned in AL-only leagues and deep mixed leagues, but in 12-team leagues his value is mostly in keeper formats.

Indians | Mike Aviles batting second

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 14:55:36 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Mike Aviles is starting at shortstop and batting second against Tampa Bay Rays Alex Colome Wednesday, July 1, with SS Francisco Lindor out of the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Hitting in the two-hole, Aviles ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is a worthy low-priced flier for FantasyScore players. Expect Lindor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) to return to the lineup sooner than later. Although, his fantasy value is quite limited, as he sports a .211/.258/.281 slash line over his first 15 games.

Indians | Francisco Lindor has two-hit game

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 22:16:54 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor made his first career start Tuesday, June 16, against the Chicago Cubs. He hit in the two-hole and contributed two hits in five at-bats.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor ($3,500; or 7.0% of cap) is worth using in FantasyScore at this price level, as he could easily outproduce his DFS salary. Donít expect this low salary to last long if he lives up to his potential.

Indians | Francisco Lindor remains in two-hole

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 15:12:19 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor is batting second in the order Tuesday, June 16, against the Chicago Cubs. The switch-hitting rookie will go up against RHP Jake Arrieta.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) went 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout in his debut Sunday, June 14. Lindor will be a risky FantasyScore play in the early going, with most of his upside likely to come via stolen bases. That said, Lindor has been promptly moved to the second spot in the order, raising his value in season-long leagues.

Indians | Francisco Lindor hitting second

Mon, 15 Jun 2015 14:14:53 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor is batting second and playing shortstop against Chicago Cubs SP Jake Arrieta Monday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor drew into the game Sunday, June 14, and went 1-for 2. He'll face a daunting matchup against Arrieta, and considering his glove is way ahead of his bat, it might not be the best time to utilize the rookie in FantasyScore contests Monday.

Indians | Nick Swisher placed on DL

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 07:30:39 -0700

Updating a previous story, Cleveland Indians 1B Nick Swisher (knee) has been placed on the disabled list Sunday, June 14, due to inflammation in his left knee. The move clears room for SS Francisco Lindor.

Fantasy Tip: Swisher ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) can be dropped in all but the deepest of AL-only leagues. OF David Murphy ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) should start most games as the designated hitter, and he's a worthy start against right-handed pitching.

Indians | Francisco Lindor won't start Sunday

Sun, 14 Jun 2015 07:13:27 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor isn't in the starting lineup Sunday, June 14, against the Detroit Tigers. SS Mike Aviles will start and hit ninth in the order against RHP Alfredo Simon.

Fantasy Tip: Aviles ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is 4-for-15 in his last four games, with four singles and just one run scored. Aviles should be avoided on FantasyScore Sunday, while owners will need to wait before they can use Lindor for the first time.

Indians | Francisco Lindor coming up Sunday

Sat, 13 Jun 2015 19:19:54 -0700

The Cleveland Indians have purchased the contract of SS Francisco Lindor from Class AAA Columbus and he will join the big club in Detroit Sunday, June 14.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor joins a long line of highly touted prospects getting the nod to the show. He is a must-add in all AL-only fantasy leagues as well as most mixed formats, and if for some reason he is still available in long-term keeper leagues add him at once. FantasyScore players might also find him useful sooner rather than later.

Indians | Francisco Lindor nicked up

Mon, 08 Jun 2015 08:45:24 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor (abdomen, hand) has been dealing with minor abdominal and hand issues in the minors and is not 100%, according to general manager Chris Antonetti. Lindor was considered for a promotion when SS Jose Ramirez was sent down.

Fantasy Tip: Lindor is close, so keep him on your watch list in mixed leagues and own him in AL-only leagues.

Indians | Francisco Lindor deemed unready

Wed, 13 May 2015 16:19:51 -0700

Cleveland Indians SS Francisco Lindor is not ready to take over as the starting shortstop, as he is just "holding his own" with Class AAA Columbus (Ohio), according to general manager Chris Antonetti. "We can bring anyone we want to the Major Leagues," Antonetti said. "But we want to have a collective feeling that the player is prepared, or as prepared as possible, to not only come up here, but to come up here and succeed and contribute to a winning team. I think we've seen it in the past where there's been times where we and other teams may have been expedient in that and maybe brought players before they were ready."

Fantasy Tip: Jose Ramirez ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) is struggling mightily, and the plan is to have Mike Aviles ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) handle the majority of starts, if Ramirez doesn't show signs of life at the plate. Ramirez is also likely to be demoted soon, if the results don't start adding up. Still, until Lindor forces the organizations hand, it appears he will remain in the minors. He may only be a prolonged hot streak away for the big leagues, though. Continue to keep tabs on Lindor's progress at Class AAA.
