Fri, 17 May 2013 13:50:17 -0700 Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve (jaw) will return from the bereavement list Saturday, May 18, and INF Jake Elmore will return to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Fantasy Tip: Altuve has been one of the team's consistent bright spots on offense and should be owned in all leagues. Get him back in your lineups for this weekend.
Tue, 14 May 2013 09:17:54 -0700 Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve (jaw) said he fully intended to play Tuesday, May 14, after suffering a subluxed jaw Monday, May 13. He'll have to miss at least the next two days, though, after being placed on the bereavement list. Fantasy Tip: Altuve could miss up to seven days on the bereavement list, and it's unknown how long he'll be away from the team. The good news is that his jaw wasn't seriously injured. Marwin Gonzalez and Ronny Cedeno are expected to be the starting middle infield tandem with Altuve out.

Mon, 13 May 2013 17:44:45 -0700 Updating a previous report, Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve (jaw) left the team's game Monday, May 13, with a subluxed jaw. Fantasy Tip: A sublexed jaw is a partial dislocation of the jaw. There was no update on how long Altuve will be out, so watch for updates in the next couple of days.
Mon, 13 May 2013 16:40:03 -0700 Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve (jaw) left the game early after colliding with OF Jimmy Paredes while trying to catch a pop-up Monday, May 13. Thu, 18 Apr 2013 11:46:12 -0700 Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve recorded his third three-hit game Wednesday, April 17, and he hit .385 (15-for-39) during the team's nine-game road trip. Fantasy Tip: Altuve remains one of the only consistent offensive players for fantasy purposes playing in Houston right now. He makes enough contact to contribute a solid batting average, but don't expect many RBIs or runs if the rest of the offensive is stagnant.
Wed, 17 Apr 2013 19:38:14 -0700 Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve had three more hits Wednesday, April 17, against the Oakland Athletics, and he finished with a run scored, RBI and stolen base. Fantasy Tip: Altuve has already racked up three or more hits in three games this season, and he wrapped up the nine-game road trip with 15 hits in 39 at-bats (.385). He remains a must-start in all leagues.
Wed, 20 Mar 2013 17:00:13 -0700 Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve is locked into the leadoff spot this year. He's the only starter locked into a lineup spot.
Tue, 19 Mar 2013 14:11:49 -0700 Houston Astros 2B Jose Altuve went 3-for-4 with three singles Tuesday, March 19, and is hitting .356 this spring. C Jason Castro went 2-for-3 with a home run and is hitting .462 with five long balls and 11 RBIs. Both players appear to be in peak midseason form at the moment. Fantasy Tip: Spring training results should be taken with a grain of salt, as always, but Castro's results are especially nice and suggest that he's completely healthy after dealing with knee injuries in the past that hampered his production. Altuve will be an excellent source for stolen bases at arguably the thinnest position on the diamond.
